"Mommy, I want to play this!" Aster exclaimed, pointing at a ride.
"Mommy, that looks really fun!" he said, pointing at another attraction.
"Mommy, let's go wait in line!" he shouted excitedly.
Aster was a fearless child who was willing to try out all the rides. Unfortunately, Larissa did not have the courage and physical stamina to keep up with him.
After accompanying him on a rollercoaster ride, Larissa felt dizzy and nauseous even after taking a long break.
Aster was bothered by Larissa's discomfort and refused to go on any more rides.
Seeing his worried expression, Larissa felt even more guilty for ruining the mood for Aster.
She forced herself to stand up and said, "Aster, what else do you want to play? I will keep you company!"
However, Aster shook his head. He pulled Larissa down on a seat to rest. "I don't want to play anymore. I just want to sit here for a while."
Although Aster said he wanted to sit down, Larissa knew very well that he was doing it for her sake.
"I'm fine. You can go and play by yourself," she said, trying to reassure him.
Suddenly, Dylan appeared out of nowhere.
Before Larissa could react, he had already grabbed Aster's hand.
"Alright, you stay here and rest. Aster, Uncle Dylan will play with you!"
Aster was obviously tempted by Dylan's invitation, but he was caught in a dilemma. Biting his lower lip, he hesitated out of concern for Larissa.
Larissa couldn't bear to see him unhappy, so she decided to put aside her questions for Dylan.
She told Aster, "Go with Uncle Dylan. I will be fine after taking a rest here."
After a moment, Aster nodded slowly.
"Okay. Mommy, don't go anywhere. Wait for me right here!" He instructed Larissa before leaving with Dylan.
Staring after both figures as they grew smaller and smaller until they blended into the crowd, an absurd thought crossed Larissa's mind.
Larissa's eyes were wide open as she listened attentively to Aster, occasionally offering him words of encouragement.
Watching the interaction between mother and son, Dylan thought of the man who was anxiously waiting for his update at the hospital.
He couldn't help but curse inwardly, "Serves him right!"
He had brought this upon himself, and he had to bear the consequences. No amount of regret or heartache would change anything!
By noon, the sun was high up in the sky, and the weather was gradually getting warmer outside.
Dylan suggested, "Let's have lunch first and continue playing later."
Aster glanced longingly at the pirate ship ride not too far away.
Sensing his reluctance, Larissa deliberately spoke up, "I'm feeling a little hungry too."
Aster agreed immediately. "Alright, let's go and have lunch!"
