“Alright, then. We shall head out.” 

Larissa gathered her belongings and pulled Kevan toward the exit. 

“I’ll come pick you up tomorrow moming. It’s almost the big family reunion dinner day. 

“So, it’s hard to find a cab on the road. You might even lind yourself waiting for hall a day without coming across an empty cab.” 

Gary didn’t reluse. 

Instead, he recursted, “Then, you come alone tomorrow.” 

Her steps hesitated a moment, and she sighed Inwardly.

As soon as they closed the door, Larissa began complaining to Kevan. “I thought my dad had really come around! Turns out, he still has reservations about you!” 

Kevan lightened his grip on her hand and smiled. 

“Take it slow; there has to be a gradual process.” 

He didn’t expect Gary to change his attitude overnight. 

But as long as things were moving in a positive direction, he was content. 

She shrugged upon hearing that. 

“Well it’s not me who’s being wronged here; it’s you. If you’re line with taking it slow, I don’t mind either.” 

He chuckled. 

“Okay, what’s your suggestion then if I don’t want to take it slow? Any plans? 

He lowered his head to look at her. 

His eyes held a hint of playfulness. 

She was stumped by his question. 

She couldn’t come up with a coherent response for a while. 

“Whatever! Take it slow then!” 

She finally gave up thinking of an answer: she couldn’t allord to alienate her biological father, could she? 

Violet expressed great surprise at their early return to the Rogers‘ villa. 

She was also dissatisfied. 

“Why didn’t you both spend quality time with Gary and Lewis?” she asked Larissa belere turning to Kevan. “They traveled all this way. You 

should have hosted them properly.” 

Larissa defended him, saying, “It’s not that Kevan d dn’t want to host them. Rather, my dad and brother haven’t slept for a dozen hours. They were loo lired to bother with us. So, they sent us away.”
