Time passed, Sharnoth’s army grew at an absurd rate, her name spread far and wide.
Word that the Queen of those who Lost is recruiting talented individuals spread, and more and more people flocked towards her.
It had reached the point where Sharnoth was no longer capable of screening everyone who wished to join them; the job was left to her subordinates.
Even the people from Lower Level Worlds tried to join her, and while most were rejected, some talented ones were accepted—and that spread the word even faster, increasing the number of people trying their luck.
Of course, it was good for Sharnoth. The more men she had, the better it was for her. Soon, however, one problem became apparent.
Sharnoth...
She did not have a stable world or a place she called her base.
Nocthys was still under Aurendor’s control, its resources were being used by those light bastards to gain more allies.
As for the world she had trained in before, it was merely a Middle Level World. It wasn’t strong enough to support her and her men—not to mention it was a Dead World. Its Law Structure was not suitable for intelligent beings anyways.
Sharnoth needed a new home—and not just any home, she needed a home strong enough to support her and her goals.
And as if the very Universe was waiting for her to realize it, a solution appeared right in front of her eyes.
A High Level World named Khaemorr.
Khaemorr’s situation was a bit special. The most recent Next Heir to Khaemorr’s Throne was about six hundred thousand years old, and the current Ruler had already stopped counting his age after reaching two million.
Of course, such cases weren’t rare. The Leaders of High Level Worlds were Eternal Level Beings; a few million years old were actually considered quite young.
Then why such a big difference between the Heir’s and Ruler’s age?
That was quite common as well.
After all, the current Heir wasn’t the only Heir to Khaemorr. Just like how it was with many other worlds, there were hundreds if not thousands of Heirs before him.
Just that none of them could reach Eternal Stage to achieve immortality, and their lifespan ended. The current Heir, however, was an exception.
He had formed an Absolute Law.
He had attained Immortality long ago, and other than his Father, no one could defeat him. He was truly an exceptional heir.
But...
That was all he was.
An Heir.
No matter how skillful he was, unless he became an Eternal, he could not become the Ruler, and...
Khaemorr wasn’t strong enough to support two Eternals.
Meaning that as long as his Father, the current Ruler, existed, the Heir could never obtain what was his by right.
Of course, all worlds face the same problem—with Immortal Rulers, barely anyone abdicates the Supreme Throne. Plus, letting a Transcendent rule a High-Level World was shameful.
However, usually, these problems are solved during Wars between Worlds. When the Rulers die, the Heirs replace them almost instantly. This was also the reason most worlds do not fall just because the Ruler is dead. The World’s Will automatically picks the Heir, and if the Heir is strong enough, he would break through and replace his father.
This did not happen in Nocthys because Nocthys had no Heir. Sharnoth was supposed to be one, but it all happened before she could grow.
Anyways, in Khaemorr, this problem and the tensions that came with it were much stronger. The Ruler refused to be a part of any War. He allied himself with as many as he could and avoided Wars even at the cost of his World.
He cherished his life too much, and Khaemorr was in decline because of his actions.
And the Heir did not like this.
There was no chance for him to replace his father, and this made him impatient, especially after seeing how his father was going out of his way to protect himself.
In the end, the Heir arranged a coup.
