Chapter 76
Melissa couldn’t believe her ears. Her lips parted slightly as she stared blankly and asked. “Did Kelvin say that himself?”
Uram smiled at her. “Yes,”
Seeing Melissa’s shocked expression, Uram felt nothing but satisfaction.
Melissa couldn’t accept it. She stared at him for a few seconds, as if his smile had only made things worse.
“I don’t believe it!” She pushed down her panic, keeping her voice sharp. “I want to hear it from him in person. I need to see
him!
Uram stayed calm. “He doesn’t have time. Ms. Baker, it’s better if you leave on your own. That would be much more dignified.”
Just then, a phone rang.
Melissa suddenly came back to her senses. She took out her phone from her bag and placed it by her ear.
A man’s anxious voice came through. “The driver said our son was taken away at the neighborhood gate. What’s going on?” Hearing this. Melissa’s face instantly turned pale. Her hands trembled as she lowered the phone.
The person on the other end kept calling her name, but she couldn’t hear a thing.
She looked up at Uram’s smiling face as if she had been struck by lightning.
“Don’t worry, Ms. Baker, he said calmly. “Your little boy has simply gone abroad ahead of you and is waiting there. Then, with a deliberate pause, he added, “But if you’re late, he might be bullied over there.”
Melissa clenched her fists by her sides, her body trembling uncontrollably.
“Let me see him.” Her voice was strained, barely holding back the storm of emotions
Uram was about to refuse when he saw her pull a crystal hair clip from her bag, turning its sharp edge toward her own neck. Her voice was icy, her pale face twisted with desperation, and her eyes were filled with madness as she said, “I’ll say it one more time. Let me see him. Or I’ll die right here in front of you!”
Uram felt helpless. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath., thinking. ‘She’s at it again with her craziness!
Uram pulled out his phone and called Kelvin. After hanging up, he looked at the frantic Melissa, suddenly finding no amusement in the situation.
“Let’s go. Ms. Baker. I’ll take you to him.”
Getting what she wanted, Melissa still didn’t lower the sharp object in her hand. She remained on high alert the entire car ride, only relaxing slightly when they arrived at Serenity Hospital’s parking lot.
Stepping out of the car, she gazed at the hospital building, shrouded in the dim evening light. Her eyes, once filled with madness, cleared just a little
“Is Charles in the hospital?”
Uram locked the car, grabbed the keys, and led her inside. Hearing her question, he let out a mocking chuckle, his tone dripping with sarçasını.

Chapter 76
“Ms. Baker, have you hurt so many people that you’ve lost track? The one lying in this hospital isn’t him. It’s Mr. Adler’s daughter.”
Melissa’s eves flashed with doubt and hesitation.
She had targeted Charles that day, but she never even touched the little girl.
Something wasn’t right. If Charles hadn’t come to the hospital, it meant he wasn’t injured.
She wondered why Kelvin was taking this so seriously.
Melissa asked a few more questions, but Uram didn’t seem to hear a thing. Frustrated, she finally gave up and fell silent. Uram led her to an empty ward. The moment he opened the door, she almost thought she had walked into a hotel suite.
She looked at the man standing by the window and paused for a moment before walking in.
Uram closed the door and followed behind her.
Melissa glanced at him and frowned. I’m here to talk to Kelvin. Who told you to come in?”
Uram acted as if he didn’t hear a word, ignoring her completely.
He simply jogged over to Kelvin’s side and stood there dutifully.
He held a small black device in his hand, adjusted it briefly, and then clipped it to his chest.
It was better to record everything, just in case she decided to spread lies later.
Kelvin sat down with his back to the large window, crossing his legs as he fixed his gaze on her.
He did not say anything. He was used to waiting for the other party to speak first. However, his dark eyes seemed to look past Melissa, as if seeing someone else through her.
Melissa couldn’t hold back her anger. “Kelvin, nothing happened to Charles! What gives you the right to send me overseas?” Kelvin leaned back, staring at her. The warmth in his eyes from that afternoon when he looked at Yvonne was gone. Now, they were cold, distant, and unapproachable.
“I don’t have to explain my decision to you.” His voice was cold, and his deep eyes were colder than the night. “If not for your status, you wouldn’t even be qualified to sit here and talk to me?”
Melissa held her breath, her expression changed drastically because of his cold attitude.
“Fine. I’m not qualified” Her expression darkened. She grabbed the hair clip in her hand and pressed it against her neck again, looking at him with a fake smile.
She used so much force that the sharp tip left a red mark on her skin.
“Give me back my son, and I’ll apologize to Charles. I swear I’ll never lay a hand on your child again. Otherwise, neither of us will have peace!
Melissa’s face was tense, her expression twisted with desperation.
Kelvin stared at lier, his dark eyes shadowed in the dim light.
“I didn’t want to use this method,” he said, his voice calm yet chilling. “But all I need is an intact corpse.”
Hearing this, Melissa suddenly shivered. She looked at the refined and handsome face in front of her, and her mind buzzed

with fear.
The hairpin she had been using as a threat slipped from her fingers at some point, hitting the floor with a sharp clack that echoed through the silent room
Uram walked over and kicked it far away.
Melissa did not notice. She looked at the man in front of her in disbelief, her voice trembling. “You… you want to kill me?”
“I don’t.” Kelvin said coldly. “So do as you’re told. Leave the country and never appear in front of me again.”
He said the same line.
For the first time. Melissa felt that he was like a stranger. The endless patience he once had for her now seemed like nothing
more than an illusion.
A cold chill spread through her body as if she had been doused in ice water. She didn’t need a mirror to know how pathetic she must look right now.
“Kelvin, you can’t do this to me. On our wedding day, you said you wouldn’t let me down for the rest of your life. You even
swore…
Kelvin didn’t bother listening to the rest. He cut her off, his dark eyes shifting slightly, filled with an almost overwhelming disgust. Though the dim light hid his face, the impatience in his voice was clear.
“Did I say those words to you?”
Melissa’s face turned even paler as she stared at him in fear.
At this moment, she realized that she might really be finished.
Melissa thought about her properties in Strate City; her husband’s company that had just started to grow, and her many
investiments…
Leaving Strate City meant she would have to live under Kelvin’s watch.
By then, her carefree life as a rich wife would be gone forever.
Her husband would resent her, and when her son grew up, he would see her as an
