Chapter 61
Chapter 61
On Tuesday evening, Yvonne rode in Anna’s family car to the Lawson house.
As they walked toward the living room. Yvonne spotted the black dog from last time–the one that had eaten the flowers she had grown. The dog was tied to a tree, its tail wagging furiously. If no one was holding it back, it probably would have launched into the air.
Yvonne felt a bit nervous. She hugged her little kitten purse tightly, her eyes darting around, constantly keeping an eye on the dog’s movements.
Seeing her unease, Fred crouched down and gently covered Teddy’s mouth with his hands, then gave Yvonne a reassuring look
Teddy, looking at her with longing, seemed to be drooling at the sight of her.
The living room was filled with people. When Yvonne entered, she felt a little shy.
At the center of the room stood an elderly man with gray hair, looking frail and supported by someone.
Yvonne recognized him immediately–this was Anna’s grandfather.
She tightened her grip on her bag and softly said, “Hello.”
Grayson walked over. letting out a long sigh, guilt and do. I had to come to you.”

He pointed to the large fish tank on the table, beside which stood a lavender plant
“My fish is about to die, but the flowers you grow seem to give it strength. So, I was hoping to buy some of your flowers.”
Yvonne’s innocent gaze seemed confused, so Grayson’s expression softened as he said sincerely, “I won’t take advantage of you, little one. The payment for the flowers, I’ll discuss it with your father. I won’t let you suffer.”
Now Yvonne understood–he was offering her money.
She immediately shook her head and said in her sweet, high–pitched voice, “No, no! I don’t want money_
She opened her bag and pulled out the flowers inside, offering them one by one.
“These are for you, the honest little girl continued, not stopping until her bag was empty. Her large, sincere eyes never left Grayson’s face

I don’t need any money. My family has plenty. I’ll bring more tomorrow.”
Skylar opened his mouth to protest, but Anna immediately took Yvonne in her arms, her voice full of affection. “Yvonne you’re so kind to us!”
Yvonne grinned, holding Anna’s hand tightly.
She liked Anna and didn’t want her to feel sad
Seeing the deep bond between the two girls, Skylar, feeling moved, decided not to bring up the money again.
The child didn’t understand these things–he would have to talk to her father about it.
He picked up two vases and started placing the flowers Yvonne had brought into them, setting them next to the fish tank.

While he was busy with that, Yvonne stood nearby, her eyes glued to the fish in the tank.
It was huge
Its appearance wasn’t particularly beautiful–it was a bit frightening, actually. But what really caught her attention was how miserable it looked. It wouldn’t even eat the smaller fish swimming next to it, and its face was one of utter exhaustion
Yet, when the flowers were placed nearby, the fish stirred. Its massive body floated up and down in the water, as though trying to escape but also perhaps struggling to survive
Grayson, watching this with a pained look on his face, immediately rushed to the fish tank, pressing his face against the glass. to get a closer look.
“Old friend” he muttered, “what do you want? Save your strength, just rest. Let me stick the flowers to the side of the tank for you”
The fish couldn’t speak, but as soon as it regained some strength, it began to thrash around, desperately trying to jump out
of the tank
Grayson instructed someone to grab some tape. He pulled the flowers from the vases and one by one stuck them to the side
of the tank
Yvonne, seeing all this, felt a deep pang in her heart.
She turned and noticed that Anna’s eyes were already red, tears brimming as she looked at her grandfather
In all the time Yvonne had known Anna, she had rarely seen her cry. Only these past two days, due to the fish’s condition, had she witnessed her tears.
Yvonne, feeling sad, stared at the fish that hadn’t eaten or drunk, her big eyes flickering.
“Anna” she whispered, leaning in close to Anna’s car when the adults weren’t paying attention, “I can try to save it, but you can’t let anyone see?
Anru turned, her tear–filled eyes searching Yvonne’s face. “Really?”
“Mm–hmm” Yvonne nodded earnestly.
I trust you!
Without another word, Anna ran straight to Grayson, standing on tiptoe to whisper something in his ear
Grayson’s eyes lit up with joy, and he waved to the people around the tank, signaling them to leave.
“Everyone, out! We all need to leave”
The people who had been placing the flowers in the vases stared at him, confused, but Grayson didn’t explain further.
He ushered everyone out, then moved a chair to the table. He took Anna’s hand and left the room.
As the door closer behind them, Anna quickly returned, whispering to Yvonne. “Yvonne, it’s okay even if the fish isn’t saved. Just be careful, it might bite you
Once Annu left and the door was shut, the room fell dark

“Don’t jump out or bite me,” she said softly, setting her little hands on the edge of the tank. “I’m here to help you.”
Although the fish probably couldn’t understand her, she said it anyway.
She stretched up on tiptoe, trying to direct her magical power into the water.

“How do you feel now?” she asked with
The fish swam a circle in the tank as though it understood her. It flapped its body, sending a splash of water flying from the
tank.
And, just her luck–it all splashed straight into Yvonne’s face.
With a loud splash, her hair and clothes were instantly soaked.
Yvonne remained calm, carefully stepping down from the chair. Once she had steadied herself on the floor, she muttered, “So, you have the energy to splash water now. That’s a good sign, right?”
The fish splashed her again.
Yvonne wiped the water from her face and skipped to the door, calling for it to be opened.
The people waiting anxiously outside froze when they saw her drenched appearance.
Yvonne, what happened?” Anna asked, her eyes wide with worry, as she rushed to wipe the water from Yvonne’s face. “Did you fall in the fish tank?”
Yvonne looked up with a smile, her eyes twinkling. “No, I didn’t fall in. It was the fish.”
Hearing this, the Lawson family entered the room.
The once–listless fish swam a loop in the tank, and upon spotting Yvonne, it flicked its tail again, sending more water toward
her.
This time, the quick–witted Yvonne saw it coming and hurriedly ducked out of the way.
Seeing the fish so lively again, Grayson’s face broke into a joyful smile as he hurried over to the tank, pressing his hand against the glass with tears in his eyes.
Skylar, turning to Yvonne, quickly instructed Anna, “Anna, take Yvonne to your room to change.”
Anna happily took Yvonne’s hand. “Yvonne, I’ll take you.”
Back in her room, Anna wiped away her
