Chapter 323
Having seized the opportunity from fan, Richard was glad to be older and happily gathered his things to pick up Yvonne from school.
In this family, he would get away with anything by using his age and seniority as an excuse. Plus, he had been preoccupied lately, working long hours and not spending much time with Yvonne..
He often left for the day before Yvonne woke up. With most of his work done, he delegated the remaining tasks to lan, freeing up his schedule to pick her up from school.
Richard inquired with the principal while picking her up today to confirm the school’s holiday schedule, even though he was already aware of it.
When their holiday officially began, the thought of taking Yvonne out the day after tomorrow brought a cheerful laugh to Richard’s face
Richard’s laughter broke Yvonne’s thoughts. As she was distracted, her gaze was drawn to something outside the car window. Her head turned towards it, her soft, delicate hand resting against the window, her clear eyes sparkling.
“Grandpa, look at all the decos!” she exclaimed, her voice bubbling excitedly.
Richard smiled, gently rubbing Yvonne’s head with his aged hand. Caxing out the window, he said, “Well, it was beautiful, then turned back to her with a smile to explain further.
“New Year’s is almost here,” he said indulgently, a broad smile spreading across his face as he looked at his adorable granddaughter, Yvonne. “Grandpa will give you the biggest gift this year. The biggest gift had no boundaries.
He had even seriously considered how Jeremy had been constantly arguing with him lately, showing no respect for his age, so he decided to quietly dock part of his gift as punishment–deducting that portion and providing it to Yvonne as a reward would be preferable
Richard’s smile unsettled Yvonne, so she blinked her large, clear eyes and looked away, back out the car window. She seemed accustomed to his unsettling smile,
Two brown teddy bears, each holding a plate with a cute little cake, were displayed outside a roadside shop. A child, her big eyes fixed on the bears, leaned curiously towards the car window.
On this stretch of road, traffic was heavy and slow–moving, giving Yvonne ample time to observe the scene. Beneath the two teddy bears lay numerous children, clearly enjoying the soft, fully feel of the new toys.
With sparkling eyes. Yvonne turned, grabbed Richard’s hand, and excitedly showed him the teddy bear she’d found “Look, Grandpa, she exclaimed, “it’s the Boonie Bears!”
-to–date and had watched cartoons with
She remembered the Boonie Bears and realized Richard must know about them, too, since he was up–to Yvonne, including the one with the two bears.
Richard squinted at the two large bears Yvonne was pointing at, his voice hesitant. “Is this the right color?” He still remembered the two bears, their dark brown fur, who spent all day eating and drinking, their demeanor not particularly gentle.
Yvonne hesitated, leaning on the car window to study the bears. Her careful observation revealed subtle differences between the four bears. “It seerns I was mistaken,” she admitted sheepishly, a playful lilt in her voice. “They aren’t Boonie Bears”
Richard felt warmth spread through him as he observed Yvonne, who was well–behaved. After noticing their stalled progress in traffic, Yvonne found her gaze drawn to the two bears a constant source of amusement since Richard had picked the chuld up from school.
Richard could only see Yvonne, who was well–behaved. He wasn’t interested in the two bears, but Yvonne was. “Eind a place to park,” he told the bodyguard in the passenger seat. Then go into that shop, buy something, and ask them where they had those bears made
Richard couldn’t recognize the store’s name because the sign was too far away. Although his eyesight had improved, it still wasn’t as sharp as Yvonne’s mother’s naturally bright eyes. Yvonne, too, had remarkably bright eyes.
He decided against buying the bears, figuring their seemingly new appearance might hade accumulated dust from the roadside traffic. He preferred to customize new ones, especially since Yvonne favored bright colors.
While Richard was initially keen on the colors, he added some pink touches to the house for Yvonne’s sake. Over time, after buying many pink items himself, he grew to appreciate their beauty and clean aesthetic, funding them visually soothing and pleasant.
This feeling was new to him, unlike the mischievous kids back home. He decided to have two identical pink teddy bears made. Yvonne would be of vacation soon, and he looked forward to taking photos of her with the bears in the backgreinil they’d make the pictures even better
Upon receiving the order, the bodyguard immediately sprang into action. Yvonne, overhearing this turned to Richard, hugged his arm, and asked softly, “Grandpa, is the big bear very expensive”
