Seeing that Yvonne’s tears were about to start falling again, Anna quickly comforted her. “It’s not your fault, Yvonne. It’s not like you wanted to get lost.”
Noticing that Yvonne would cry every time she looked at the picture frame, Anna took it from her, stood behind the little crybaby, and slipped it into her schoolbag.
“Even if your mommy got skinnier, she’s still beautiful.” Seeing Yvonne’s eyes all red from crying, Anna gently patted her back.” And besides, you’re amazing! My whole family says so. I know you can help your mommy become beautiful again.”
Yvonne lifted her head, her eyes still brimming with tears. “Really?” she asked. Her voice trembled with uncertainty.
“Yeah! After Teddy ate your flowers, the injury on its leg healed completely!” Anna assured.
Tears clung to Yvonne’s long lashes as if about to fall.
She had already forgotten who Teddy was.
Anna said, “It’s that big black dog that ate your flowers before.”
“Oh!” Yvonne remembered it. Her attention was diverted, and she finally stopped crying.
Anna let out a breath of relief. After wiping Yvonne’s face clean, she held her hand and led her outside.
“Thank you, Anna,” Yvonne said as they walked.
She realized that crying couldn’t make her mother beautiful again.
With a determined voice, Yvonne made up her mind as if declaring a major decision. “I’m going to take care of my mommy, just like taking care of flowers.”
If she could save a dying jasmine, she was confident she could take care of her mom, too.
Anna’s eyes lit up.
I’ll marry you!”
She nodded and joked, “That’s right, Yvonne. You’re amazing! I like you even more now. When I grow up,
For a moment, Yvonne felt like she had heard that line before.
Her brother had once told her that if a little boy at school said he wanted to marry her, it meant he was trying to bully her, and she had to reject him.
But if it was Anna who wanted to bully her, she didn’t mind.
The two little girls walked into the class, hand in hand.
The teacher had already prepared two brand–new desks and pushed them together, just like in the two girls‘ old kindergarten in Blorence City, so they could sit close to each other.
As soon as Yvonne and Anna walked in, the lively classroom suddenly fell silent, almost as if everyone had planned it.
Without waiting for the teacher’s prompt, Anna naturally stepped into the center of the room and introduced herself in a clear voice.
She spoke calmly and unhurriedly, while Yvonne stood beside her, looking at her with sparkling eyes.
After briefly introducing herself, Anna didn’t bother to see how the other kids reacted. She turned to the teacher standing by the door and asked, “Miss, where do Yvonne and I sit?”

Widom needing anyone to say anything, Yvonne naturally picked up her fade schooling and sat further inside.
With Anna by her side, she wasn’t afraid of anything. And for some reason, it felt like the hat endless things to say
Anna was the same. So much had happened in the past few days that she couldn’t wait to share everything with Yvonne.
The two little girls chatted for a long time, completely unaware of the unhappy gaze watching them from a short distance

Kevin was not pleased. He had been in class since this morning and hadn’t said a single word to Yvonne.
According to his father, it was time for him to “build their relationship”
But the new girl had been sticking to Yvonne the entire time, not giving anyone else a chance to get close.
During their outdoor time, Kevin followed behind the two of them.
As Yvonne was talking with Rachel, he took the opportunity to step closer, standing beside Anna with an air of arrogance. “Come here. I have something to tell you.”
Anna looked at him in confusion and pointed at herself uncertainly, asking, “Me?”
Kevin replied, “Yeah, I need to talk to you.”
“Then just say it.” Anna didn’t move, still holding Yvonne’s hand.
Kevin glanced at Yvonne, who was engrossed in conversation, and frowned unhappily.
He even tried to grab Anna. “Not here. Come over there.”
Anna immediately dodged his hand, her brows furrowing in annoyance.
She wasn’t exactly known for her good temper in her class in Blorence City, except when it came to Yvonne.
“I don’t want to go with you. If you don’t want to say it here, then forget it.”
Anna’s attitude made Kevin’s face darken, but remembering his goal, he didn’t argue with her.
With Yvonne nearby, he lowered his voice.“You’re not allowed to play with her.”
“Who?” Anna looked at him with confusion.
Kevin lifted a finger and pointed at Yvonne.
The little girl was still discussing with Rachel whether the sand in the play area had been brought in from a desert or a beach, completely oblivious to the other two’s conversation.
Anna glanced at Yvonne, then at Kevin’s smug expression. Her eyes widened slightly. After a moment, she got mad.
“Who do you think you are? I’ve been playing with Yvonne for ages! What gives you the right to tell me not to?” Her face flushed with anger.
She had cried for ages at home, all for the chance to attend school with Yvonne, yet a boy was trying to forbid her from
