"If you keep nagging, I'll send you back to the training camp," Artemis threatened, effectively silencing Ken.
He then commanded, "Give me the brocade."
Once again, Ken was left speechless.
Artemis took the brocade from the man's hand and began to carefully admire it with his head lowered.
It was only partially finished, with many parts yet to be sewn together. At the moment, it appeared messy and tattered.
However, it wouldn't be long before this ragged piece of cloth transformed into a globally admired wedding gown. The girl he loved would wear it when she married him and committed her life to him.
He had never expected that a highly skilled assassin like her would excel in embroidery.
He speculated that she took up embroidery because she had experienced so much violence and killing. Perhaps she wanted to find peace in the tedious and meticulous work.
During that time, she led a difficult life, leading the Saviors in battles everywhere, engaging in countless covert operations, all while facing suppression from Interpol.
If I had known that the leader of the Saviors was my future wife, I definitely wouldn't have given her a hard time back then. On the contrary, I might have even mobilized Tarragon's forces to support her.
Regrettably, everything was already set in stone, so all those thoughts were in vain.

The door swung open, and Bailey entered the room with a tray in her hands.
Seeing Artemis leaning against the headboard, admiring the brocade, she couldn't help but tease, "If you ask me, you might as well stay home and embroider this wedding gown. I'll handle the affairs out there for you."
Her remark carried a hint of frustration.
She initially expected him to be displeased, but to her surprise, he responded, "Sure. That would be perfect. With you being so capable, Wifey, I can worry less."
Good Lord! Is this something a macho man would say?
Bailey walked over to the side of the bed and placed the tray containing alcohol swabs, medication, and gauze on the bedside table.
"It's time to change your dressing."
Upon hearing this, Artemis felt a chill run down his spine. The pain was so excruciating that he found it unbearable.
"You just changed it not long ago. Why are you changing it again?"
Not long ago? He must be out of his mind after all the sleep he had and doesn't even know what time it is now.
Bailey walked over to the floor-to-ceiling window and flung the closed curtains wide open with a swoosh.
In an instant, a dazzling burst of light flooded in, causing Artemis to squint slightly and furrow his brows.
"It's already the next day?"
Bailey chuckled. "To be precise, it's already the afternoon of the next day. You slept for fifteen hours."
Artemis was dumbfounded.
At his silence, Bailey walked back to the side of the bed and began to unfasten his pajamas.
Artemis grabbed her hands, his voice gravelly as he said, "Don't tease me. When a man has just woken up, his desires are strong and intense. If you don't want to be intimate, let Ken come in and do it instead."
With a cold sneer, Bailey forcefully pressed her fingers against his wound.
A muted growl escaped Artemis, accompanied by a slight tremor.
Bailey grinned and said, "You should have cooled down by now, right? Pain serves a purpose. It can keep a person clear-headed."
Despite her words, she first sprinkled a special pain-relieving powder on his wound. Only then did she begin to clean the clotted blood with alcohol.
"You still haven't figured out how to confess about your relationship with Rebecca to me? Artemis, was she your girlfriend once upon a time? If you remain silent, I'll take it as an admission."
Fine, keep going. Don't blame me if you get interrupted at the crucial moment later.
Upon seeing her lying there calmly, without any resistance or struggle, Artemis was instantly driven to the brink of madness.
His breath surrounded her, completely enveloping her.
His intense gaze fixated on her, meticulously tracing every inch of her beauty.
"Bay, Bay..."
Bailey reached out, wrapping her hand around his neck, and leaned in to whisper in his ear with a soft chuckle, "I'm here. Don't act like a novice. It's embarrassing."
"I can't help it. You're too beautiful, and I can't control myself," Artemis murmured.
Bailey was also pushed to her limit. Just as he was about to take things further, she quickly said with a smile, "I'm pregnant, Mr. Luther."
Artemis was taken aback, narrowing his eyes at her.
After a moment of silence, he scoffed, "So now you've switched from claiming to have your period to being pregnant? You sure have a lot of excuses, Bailey. But I won't be fooled."
After saying that, he immediately escalated the situation.
Bailey instinctively reached out and cradled her belly, glaring at him. "Artemis, have you lost your mind? I'm really pregnant."
As if he had lost his sanity, Artemis completely disregarded her words.
However, his actions were surprisingly gentle. After Bailey allowed him to try a few times and felt no discomfort, she reluctantly let him proceed.
Only after what felt like an eternity, and after she felt completely drained of energy, did he slowly release her.
Bailey was utterly upset. She turned her back to him, sulking in silence.
What a jerk! I've already told him I'm pregnant, yet he still put me through this ordeal. Now that I'm newly pregnant, what if something were to go wrong? We've already experienced the loss of a child. If something were to happen again, we might never be able to have children in our lifetime, as my womb was severely damaged with slim chances of recovery.
