Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 994

Even without Mr. Donnelly translating, the kid vaguely understood what Cathy said from her expression.

He said nothing and lowered his head, biting his lip.

Mr. Donnelly looked at him and could not help but sigh. “These children are normally orphans. Country T isn’t like ours. Lots of orphans have nowhere to go and end up hungry on the streets, but no one will hire them, let alone send them to school.”

Cathy finally understood and felt pity for the kid. She thought about it, fished out all the cash she had in her purse, and gave it to the kid.

“Take it. It’s not a lot, but this is all I can do for you. Be good and don't do this anymore.”

The kid froze and looked at her.

Mr. Donnelly said, “Why are you just standing there? Take it.”

The kid then took the money and fled.

Sean frowned as he watched the kid run off, sighing. “Cathy, you’re too kind.”

Cathy’s mind was a little absent as she sighed. “It’s not that I’m too kind. It’s the world that’s too cruel. So many people suffer, and he’s just a kid! To have to live like that…”

Nell tried cheering her up. She was also a little glad to see Gregory and Vickie here, so she changed the topic. “Hello, Gregory. What brings you here?”

He monotonously replied, “I had some business to take care of,” before pausing and looking at the others. “Aren’t you going to introduce us?”

Nell caught on and hastily introduced everyone, smiling. “Ah, yes. This is my mother, and this is Sean Miller, my mom’s husband.”

As Gregory did a double-take, his face was filled with skepticism. In such a short time, Nell now had a mother and was Sean’s wife?

He thought it was Nell’s godmother until Cathy introduced herself, “Hello. I’m Cathy Morrison.”

His mind completely stopped working.

Did such a short amount of time with Nell enlighten her and cause Cathy to be less repulsive towards strangers?

She could even introduce herself to Gregory and Vickie! He was straight up, dumbfounded.

Gregory stared at her in disbelief before turning to Nell. “Isn’t she…?”

Nell pursed her lips. “It’s…a long story. We’ll tell you later.”

Gregory nodded. You did not just leave after saying hi to an old friend, so they returned to the hotel together and headed to the nearby coffee shop.

When Mr. Donnelly saw that they had things to discuss, he excused himself.

They asked for a private booth and sat down. Nell relayed the whole story about her mother to Gregory and Vickie. He was mindblown, to say the least. It was impossible no matter how he thought of it.

Still, when Cathy died, a lot of people went to recover her body, but it was never found.

Gregory did not notice his expression and just nodded. “Alright. I’ll let you know then.”

The group sat for a bit longer and drank tea as they chatted. They talked about Nell’s pregnancy, and Gregory and Vickie congratulated them.

Nell was slightly worried about Vickie’s condition, but she looked well and healthy. She had been taking the medication Tristan gave her and the symptoms had not appeared since the wedding, much to Nell’s relief.

The group continued chatting until midnight before heading back.

On the way back, Nell clung to Gideon’s arm and asked, “Could Tristan be lying? What if the disease isn’t genetic like he says? Why not let Uncle Sean have a look since he’s here? We might learn something.”

Gideon smiled, "I don't think he's lying. Gregory got Vickie checked, and there was nothing out of the ordinary. And everyone in the Flinders family knows about this genetic disease. I doubt he could come up with such a lie since it would be exposed immediately.

Nell nodded. "That's true…"

He continued, "But you did remind me of something. Sean is regarded as the Supernatural Doctor by the general public since many of his methods are unconventional. They don't receive as much attention from mainstream medicine due to that, but sometimes his methods work strangely well. Maybe it's not a bad idea to have him take a look at Vickie."

Nell grinned. "I'll tell them about it later. Maybe tomorrow will work."

Gideon groaned. "Hang on. There's no need to rush. Ask Gregory if he's willing to let Sean take a look at her first."

She nodded and they gave Gregory a call.

To be frank, Gregory was already thinking about it when he first saw Sean.
