Nell stood there with the jade pendant in her hand. Her heart, however, was very heavy.

After a while, she took a deep breath and walked outside while holding the jade pendant.

Early in the morning, Sean had realized that Cathy was a little bit restless. She was turning the room upside down to look for something.

He frowned and asked curiously, “What are you looking for?”

“Sean, my jade pendant is missing.”

Sean’s facial expression changed.

“Which jade pendant?”

“The one that I have worn since I was young. The one with the lotus pattern on it.”

Sean’s face took on a ghastly expression as he started to look for the jade pendant as well.

As he was looking for the jade pendant, he tried to comfort Cathy. “Don’t worry. I will help you to look for it. Try to remember the last time you saw the pendant. Once you have thought of something, I will go look for it with you.”

Cathy stopped looking for the pendant and started to jog her memory.

However, she could not think of anything even after thinking for quite a long time.

She shook her head. “I don’t know. My dad gave me this jade pendant, and I have worn it for so many years. I have never taken off the pendant before, so I have never given it much attention. It felt as if the jade pendant was a part of me, so I didn’t notice that I lost it. I can’t even remember when was the last time I saw it.”

Sean furrowed his eyebrows as he heard that.

He thought for a while. He then said, “Let’s search for the pendant in this room first. If we can’t find it here, then you could have lost it at the stone gambling site two days ago.”

Cathy’s face turned pale as he finished his sentence.

“If I did lose it there, then…”

She did not need to finish her sentence, as both of them knew what would happen. As such, their faces darkened.

That jade pendant did not have much worth or not Jean would not have given that pendant to Lizzy just like that.

However, that jade pendant held great significance for Cathy. Old Master Morrison had specially made that jade pendant for her while he was alive. After a few decades, that was the only relic that Old Master Morrison had left behind for her.

In the eyes of others, it might be a worthless piece of jade. However, it was a piece of remembrance for Cathy.

The two of them searched the whole room. Alas, they could not find the jade pendant.

They had no choice but to go out and retrace their steps.

The jade pendant still had not been found after they searched the manor.

At last, they had no choice but to call Mr. Donnelly.

Mr. Donnelly was shocked after listening to the whole incident.

“You lost your jade pendant? What type of jade pendant was it?”

Cathy described the jade pendant hastily. “It’s a lotus-shaped jade pendant that is three centimeters long and about three to four millimeters thick. You can also see the word ‘Morrison’ at the center of the lotus. It is easy to recognize.”

Mr. Donnelly frowned.

He thought for a while. “This is quite the predicament. After all, you aren’t sure about when you lost your jade pendant. To search for such a small item is like looking for a needle in a haystack.”

Of course, Cathy already knew about that. However, that jade pendant held significance to her.

She also did not know how she could have lost it.

It was at that moment when the jade pendant fell off Cathy’s neck and landed on the ground.

Both of them were excited as well as worried.

Sean pressed the play button, and the video continued playing.

It was Jean.

At that moment, Mr. Donnelly had just exited the office while Jean was coming from the other direction. Jean chatted with him for a while before turning around.

She walked for a while. Then, she stopped and took a step backward. After that, she bent down and picked something up.

Cathy held her breath. Sean pressed the pause button and zoomed in to see the object in her hand.

To their surprise, it was Cathy’s lotus-shaped jade pendant.

“It was her?”

Sean’s expression gloomed as a glint of hatred could be seen in his eyes. “It’s this woman again!”

Cathy was worried. “She is the young mistress of the Leith family. She wouldn’t be interested in a small jade pendant.”
