Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 1070

“I don’t know why you lied to me, but I know that you had your reasons. I’m happy that we get to meet again, Gideon. Tell Lizzy and Little Viemond that I love them.”

Upon saying this, Nell threw herself towards the ocean.

No matter how hard she tried, she was still unable to get away from Jeff’s grasp. Before she even managed to take a step away, she found herself being yanked back hard.

Once again, Jeff pinned her against himself.

With tears gushing down her face, she struggled and yelled, “Let me go, Jeff! I’m done being part of your deal. I want out!”

Her screams fell on deaf ears. Placing his hand over her neck, he pressed hard and glared at Gideon. In a deep voice, he said, “You only have one chance, Gideon. Deal or no deal? If you’re a man, act like one!”

Looking at Gideon with her tear-stained face, she shook her head wildly in disapproval.

Honestly, even if she had not gone with Jeff’s idea, things would still have ended up the same. After all, from the second he kidnapped her, Jeff had already made up his mind to use her as bait in return for the Arcane Jade.

He was merely choosing a gentler way to do it.

He did not expect her to be so stubborn. Fine! Since she did not want to play nice, he had no choice but to do this the tough way.

All he cared about now was the Arcane Jade. Who cared if Nell saved his life? Not him.

Once he got his hands on the Arcane Jade, he would use it to save Zeezee. Then, they could finally live together again. His eyes glinted in madness as he thought about this.

He raised his voice and said, “Say something, Gideon!”

Glaring deep into his eyes, Gideon replied, “Fine, I’ll do it.”

Upon saying that, he paused for a while. “To be frank, the pieces of the Arcane Jade aren’t with me now. You’ve got to give me some time to retrieve them.”

That seemed like a fair request, hence Jeff did not reject it. In a low voice, he ordered, “Men! Tie the three of them up!”

Gregory and Vickie still did not understand what was going on. Seeing that Gideon did not fight back, they gave in submissively too.

Soon, the three of them were bound.

After contacting his subordinates through his phone, he ordered them to retrieve the pieces of the Arcane Jade from his room in K City and ended the call.

Nell listened to his conversation as her heart fell deep into the abyss. She thought that Jeff had been lying to her. When she realized that Gideon possessed the four pieces of the Arcane Jade, she was filled with dread as the last sign of hope faded away.

She could no longer deny it anymore as her last piece of illusion shattered into thin air.

After tying them up, Jeff ordered the captain to set sail towards the dock. The reasons for his decision were simple. It might be due to the convenient location, but it seemed likelier that he was anxious to obtain the Arcane Jade. It was obvious that he was burning deep with exhilaration.

An hour later, the group returned to the villa that once kept Nell hostage.

Cathy had already rejoined the group at this moment.

“I’ve never suspected his love for you because he probably had his reasons for lying to you. After all, Jeff has a rather special identity. He probably just doesn’t want to drag you into this huge mess and put you in danger.

“You’ve got to understand. Don’t overthink or jump into assumptions for now. We’re all lying in the same boat, so you have to think of the big picture, okay? Think of why Jeff told you all these. He just wants to ruin your relationship with your husband, so don’t fall for his tricks.”

Honestly, Nell had always known that this was a trap set out by Jeff. She was no fool.

People were self-contradicting creatures. Although you knew that some things were meant to be trouble, your overthinking subconsciously would lead you on as you stepped deeper and deeper into the trap.

She cared about him so much that it was impossible to bear the stab on her back. She struggled to ignore all the lies he told her.

The more you loved someone, the harder it was to accept that your lover had been lying to you all along. Even a single lie would cause a permanent scar in your life.

Although she understood lies were real, the hurt that came along it would be unbearable.

Nell just wanted to protect herself. She was just human, after all. Closing her eyes, she raised her hands as she buried her face deep into her elbows. Sitting down in a corner, tears rolled down her cheeks as she quietly cried to herself.

Seeing her daughter so devastated, Cathy was at a loss for words. She had never been good at giving out advice in the first place.

If she really knew how to console someone, she probably would not have needed to take so long to forget about her own traumatic experience. Back then, she had even shut herself away from the world to heal and protect herself.

As she thought about this, Cathy let out a sigh and said nothing.
