Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 1022

The entire surrounding was a desolate desert.

Everywhere looked yellow, and greenery was rare. Even if there was greenery, it only took up a tiny spot — the kind that was unnoticeable without taking a closer look.

Nell sighed about the fact that her mother had been living in such a place over the years.

She did not think it was a bad place, but deep down she understood that her mother grew up being pampered as the eldest daughter of the Morrison family.

Even though she married Shaun Jennings who was unfaithful to her, he did not dare to neglect her.

At least in life, she had never gone through any suffering.

In such a desert, however, no matter how much money one had, there were some resources that would be hard to obtain in time.

Her mother must have had a hard time getting accustomed to this place in the first few years.

As she thought about this, Nell could not help but feel a little down.

As if Gideon had read her mind, he held her hand and said softly, “Don’t think so much about it, alright?”

Nell turned to look at him and nodded her head after a while.

As time passed, the two kids were probably tired from playing and chattering. They were only fascinated at the beginning because as the car kept moving forward, there was nothing but the yellow sand in the desert outside the window.

So they lost interest after a while. With the summer heat rushing in, they could not help feeling drowsy in the car.

Gideon had them sit beside him with each arm embracing one of them so that they could sleep comfortably in his arms.

Nell felt a little uncomfortable too.

She was a pregnant woman after all. No matter how well she had recuperated her health over the last few years, she could not endure such a long-distance bumpy ride.

For that reason, the look on her face began to change about half an hour or so later.

Gideon was actually observing her in secret and when he noticed that her face was slowly starting to pale, he asked worriedly, “Is something not right, Nell? Are you feeling uncomfortable?”

Nell shook her head.

“Nothing. Just feeling nauseous.”

Kremer heard it from the front seat. He then took out a bottle of iced water from the mini-fridge beside him and handed it to her with a friendly smile. He said, “You may be suffering from heatstroke. It’s okay, just drink some iced water and you’ll feel better. People who have just come to the desert tend to experience the same thing. You’ll get used to it in a few days.”

Gideon took the iced water only to feel that the iced water was freezing cold in his hands.

Since she had been feeling hot, he was worried that the iced water would cause a reaction to Nell’s stomach if she drank it cold all at once.

Therefore, he did not twist the bottle open to let her drink it. Instead, he had her place the cold bottle on her forehead to cool her body down.

Kremer did not say anything when he saw it but he did quietly lower the temperature of the car’s air conditioning by a few degrees.

About an hour later, the yellow scenery outside the window was no longer in sight.

The car finally drove into a city full of greenery.

In Kremer’s words, although this city was huge, its surrounding area was a desert, and this place was the only tiny area that was inhabitable.

There was a river nearby. It was said to have a history of more than two thousand years, and because a small piece of green land had gradually developed around it, the scenery was very beautiful. If they had the time and were in a leisurely mood, they could go and take a look around that area.

Nell and Gideon stopped talking. Nell did not want to say that she had been feeling quite well ever since she became pregnant.

However, it was all green inside; everywhere was planted with large green trees and low-growing plants. Each of them seemed to have been carefully designed as the spots where they had been placed were just right.

The ground in the middle was paved with a very smooth marble. When the car moved on it, it was like walking on a white glass as it reflected dazzling light under the sun.

In her heart, Nell could not help but gasp at how filthy rich they were.

This was truly what being wealthy meant!

Those who were aware might know it as a genius doctor’s home, while those who did not know would have thought they had just entered a royal palace.

Indeed, in Nell’s mind, the style here was definitely of a royal palace in medieval Europe.

The car continued to move forward for about five or six minutes before finally, it came to a standstill in front of a tall building.

Kremer hopped off the car and walked to the back to open their car door. He smiled and said, “Sir, madam, we’re here now. Please get down here.”

Carrying his kids, Gideon got out of the car with Nell following behind him. Kremer came forward and gave her a hand.

After getting off the car, Nell could finally see more clearly that the building in front of her bore the same style as medieval palaces in Europe. Every stone pillar and every carving on it were so lifelike that it felt like she was entering a fairyland.

Kremer walked ahead, leading the way, as he said with a smile, “Please follow me.”

Several people then walked along with him.

In front of the building was a tall flight of stairs that had about 20 to 30 levels.

When they were about to take a step up, and before they even walked up the steps, they heard a woman’s excited voice coming from ahead.

“You said Nell and the rest are already here? Why didn’t you tell me earlier? I’m going to bring them in now.”
