Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 1015

“I only thought of this question when I was chatting with Liam just now,” Gideon spoke calmly. He made circles on the surface of the glass with his fingers and said, “I don’t know whether Gregory and Vickie have thought about it, but when that thought came to me just now, I felt a chill running down my spine.”

If he felt that way, surely, Nell felt the same way too.

Her expression shifted immediately. She remained silent, then stood up without warning.

“I’ll call Vickie and Gregory at once.”

“No hurry.”

Gideon stopped her.

“It’s difficult to explain on the phone. Haven’t you agreed to meet Vickie tomorrow morning? You can explain when you two meet up tomorrow.”

Nell pondered and agreed.

No matter how urgent it was, there was no need to rush things tonight.

Thus, she gave up on the idea of phoning Vickie and drank the glass of milk Gideon handed her. Then, she brushed her teeth and went to bed.

The following day.

When she woke up in the morning, it was almost 9:00 am.

As the months passed in her pregnancy, her love for slumber grew. Back then, she would wake up automatically at 7:30 am. These days, she often overslept.

However, everyone knew that she was pregnant and was considerate of her. Therefore, they did not wait for her to have breakfast, lest she felt bad and stressed herself out.

They instructed the cook to keep the food warm for her so that she could eat it once she awoke.

Nell got dressed. When she came downstairs, she saw Old Madam Griffin and Old Madam Quinton having tea and chit-chatting in the living room.

The two old ladies seemed to never run out of topics.

She laughed and walked over to greet them.

When she learned that the three children were playing in the garden behind the residence, she headed for that area.

She saw the three kids playing in the colorful garden.

For some reason, the two boys who had beef with each other yesterday seemed to have made up after one night.

Gideon came over.

“You’re awake?”

He noticed how thin Nell’s clothes were and frowned. “Why didn’t you bundle up?”

This caught Nell’s attention and she smiled. “I’m not cold.”

Then, she went inside the house.

Gideon followed her. “You should dress warmly even if you aren’t cold. It’s almost winter, so don’t take the risk.”

After that, he immediately ordered a maid to fetch a thick jacket.

Nell saw this and laughed.

“Why do I find you to be more long-winded than Grandma?”

Gideon glared at her.

“Are you complaining about me?”

Nell chuckled. “Mm, yes, but I like you too.”

As she spoke, she wrapped her arms around Gideon and cooed, “You’re my husband, after all.”

The man’s gloomy face lit up when he heard her remark.

“That’s more like it.”

The lovey-dovey couple walked toward the dining room. On the way, they met Janet and Liam. The latter tutted and shook their heads.

“Those who know you are aware that you’ve been married for four or five years, but those who don’t know will just assume you’re a couple who just started dating.”

Gregory nodded.

Nell grinned. “In this case, is it still necessary for us to tell him that the piece he owns is real?”

As soon as she said this out loud, the people around her displayed strange looks.

The people present were shrewd in the field of business.

Although Janet was not experienced in business management, her husband, father, and brother were businessmen. She had learned a thing or two from them over the years.

Naturally, they knew that the best way was to not tell Uncle Ian that the jade piece was real.

Next, they would purchase the jade piece from him discreetly. Once it was in their hands, he would not be able to do anything, even if he learned about the truth from someplace else.

Yet, sometimes, people behaved this way.

If they cared only for profit, they might not have been able to get together today.

Gregory considered this and fell silent.

“I’ll talk to him. It’d be best if he’s willing to part with the jade piece, but if he isn’t, I’ll think of some other way.”

Nell nodded.

“That’s the best. Since he’s an uncle from the Griffin family, we’d better not hide the truth from him. I suggest that Liam should talk to him. Perhaps it’ll yield a better outcome.”

Everyone directed their attention to Liam.

Liam was sipping his cup of tea.

He looked at them and eventually nodded.

“Alright, understood.”

Nell kept quiet. When nobody else made further comments, she brought up the question she and Gideon thought of last night.
