After listening to Lily for a while, Benedict shook his head and sighed, "I thought many would have felt saddened by the news of my death. I guess I don't have such an influence over people, do I?"

Lily knew he was teasing her, but she did not laugh-instead, she asked seriously, "Is it part of your game plan?"

Benedict's gaze wavered as he looked at her. "What?"

"If you don't want to talk about it, it's okay. Everyone has secrets, so I guess you must do what you need to do." Lily did not like to pry into others' affairs, so she did not mind if he did not want to talk about it.

Benedict smiled. "It's not that I don't want to talk about it, but it's not the time yet. Anyway, I never thought I'd bump into you here. Are you here on vacation?"

"No, I came here to discuss a collaboration deal," Lily answered frankly.

Benedict raised his eyebrows and threw her a surprised look. "You used to busy yourself with conducting experiments and creating perfumes in the lab, and now you're discussing collaboration deals? Woah, is it really you?"

Lily heard his praise and could not help but smile.

Benedict was right that she was so much different than before. All she wanted to do was create perfumes while others handled the business deals. She had grown so much over the past two years, thanks to that as* hole, Nathaniel.

However, she was most grateful to Alexander for all the help he had given her. He always gave her timely help yet never interfered with what she wanted to do. It was from him that Lily learned that love is giving.

"Hello? Yoo-hoo?" Benedict waved and looked at her knowingly. "Look at you. Such a sweet smile. Must be thinking of your boyfriend, huh?"

“It's not for a child to know, okay?" Lily caught herself. Benedict was no longer an unruly young boy carving wood at the roadside store.

Benedict lowered his gaze and looked slightly saddened. "Do excuse US. We must have looked like fools to you.”

‘Since the Tanner family has become the talk of the town, outsiders are likely to assume someone new will head it. With so many power struggles and people getting into jail, they must have become a joke to many people.’

‘This is your family's private affairs, and it's not for me to judge. However, seeing you here and acting so calmly, I'm sure you have a solution, so I don't need to feel worried for you guys.”

"Why so serious out of a sudden? Oh, do you still remember the pieces of wood you gave me?" Lily thought about a piece of good news and wanted to share it with him.
