Chapter 41
Asher’s POV
“Board of Elders meeting*
“How dare you begin a meeting without your King?” I roared in anger at their audacity.
My
y entrance caused a temporary disorganisation amongst them, but they hastily put themselves in order, though fear lingered in the atmosphere.
My eyes landed on my father and something within me stirred- could be anger or something more, I just couldn’t classify il
Andrew Blackwood was fond of going behind my back to try and get things done in his own way, knowing that I would never conform to his onders, or run around as his puppet.
This wasn’t the first, and I knew for sure that it won’t be the last, but one way or the other, I always get to find out. Sometimes I’m lucky enough to find out before it goes out of hand, and sometimes, I find out after the deed has been done, and this tends to makes me appear as incompetent in front of the whole Kingdom
I scanned their fearful faces as if trying to read their minds, “Will you tell me what you all were discussing, or do I have to force it out of you.”
My father cleared his throat, attempting to speak, but I cut in immediately. “Were you making decisions in my pack, on my behalf, again?” 1 said, accompanied by a low growl.
Silence enveloped the place as no one dared to speak, not even my father. I was burning with rage, to the point that the fire inside of me was breeding sweat
“And to you all,” I said pointing my fingers across the twelve elders of the pack. “Do you also think I’m not capable of ruling this Kingdom on my
Elder Phillips, one of the youngest elders stood up in defence, “No, your majesty. Neither of us see you as incompetent, we are just here to help. To relieve you of the burdensome tasks you have on your shoulders.”
Elder John stood in compliance. “Yes your majesty. We respect you and your decisions, but it is also our duty to help in decision making”
Despite the fact that I knew they were right, the anger of my father’s presence lingered.
My fists clenched involuntarily, “And what is that decision that is too hectic for me to make for myself?”
“Asher, do not misunderstand us. No one is saying you can’t make the decision for yourself, we are only making sure that the weight on you is not so much, and that is why we handle this little problems without having to bother you with it Andrew Blackwood explained,
“Look at that for instance,” He continued, passing me an invitation card. “That’s an invitation to the biggest businessmen dinner in the country. Other regional Lycan King’s and Alpha’s would be available, and many connections can surface as a result of attending this meeting.”
I took the invitation card from my father’s hand, my eyes scanning the formal lettering and the intricately designed logo. A business dinner invitation, how amusing. I looked up, my gaze locking onto my father’s, my voice low and menacing. “So, what does this have to do with you! What’s there to discuss?”
“Look to the bottom right. He informed and my eyes strolled down the invite
“You MUST atiend with a plus one.” I read out loud.
My father nodded. “Yes Asher, we were trying to pick out the most fitting Lycan lady to represent the Kingdom alongside you, at the event.
I frowned even more at his worth, “And who said I’m in need of a plus one?” I thundered.
My question left them disoriented.
Every man
“Whatever plai you have put in place, end it! I would be attending with my matr.” I said dismissively
“But your majesty – Elder Kasi called, choosing his words rightly before he spoke. “You said her purpose here was to give you an heir, nothing

My gaze locked on my father instead as I replied to Elder Karl’s comment. “A wise old man would have known that everything changed when I decided to introduce her to the pack.”
But before any other could verbally support the motion. I swayed my hand in Elder Phillips direction, sending him crashing against the rock hard walls.
The elder’s rose in unison and with a bow they all said, “Yes, your majesty.”
No one dared to help Elder Phillips who was still reeling from the unforeseen attack. They knew better than to help an offender.
