"How many items are remaining now?" Diamond asked curiously after seeing how much time had passed.
Dean looked at her with a soft smile and answered, "there should be four or five items remaining if I am not mistaken!"
Diamond sighed relievedly when she heard that. It was soon, and she could wait.
Two more items were auctioned off, and after waiting for ages, what she wanted finally appeared.
"We have a few items on the list remaining now, but I can assure you that everything that we have is epic and can blow your mind," Evelyn gently said as she gestured for the next item to be brought over.
A beautiful lady wearing a bodycon type of dress, which accentuated her curves walked in pushing a trolley with a black cloth covering whatever was on it.
The lady pushed the trolley to Evelyn, and upon arrival, she removed the cloth before leaving.
Evelyn smiled as she picked what was on the trolley, making the hall erupt in exclamations of wonder.
"What’s that?"
"Is that a dagger or my eyes are failing me?"
Diamond even straightened her back upon seeing the familiar dagger in Evelyn’s hands.
’It’s finally here! Damn, that thing is ominous!’ she couldn’t help but tremble as she spotted dark energy being emitted by the dagger.
She couldn’t help but wonder how badly Evelyn was getting damaged by that energy. That thing needed to be taken away as soon as possible.
"What we have here is a special dagger. The professionals dated the dagger to be several thousand years old. Some say that the dagger is cursed, and some say otherwise.
Anyway, this dagger is made of the best material and is unbreakable. Several tests had been done and even the sharpest metal failed to make the cut. It’s a piece of weapon that those who have an interest in weapons can acquire," Evelyn gave details of the dagger as much as she could.
Diamond, listening to the story, couldn’t help but sigh as she recalled the name of the dagger.
How could it be broken or shattered when it was enough to curse someone for many lifetimes?
It would be a shame if it easily broke but how did such a cursed item even ended up getting dug out?
Didn’t the curser know how to hide the damn dagger?
Anyway, returning to the auction, not many people were very enthusiastic about the dagger. After all, the moment the curse came out. Whether it was true or not, not many people loved taking chances.
The bid started at A$1 million, and the bid started increasing, but at a very slow pace.
"A$5 million. Any more bids?" Evelyn called out, hoping for someone to increase the bid.
Only that way could they cover the losses. Thinking about the resources that were lost to bring the dagger into the country. Evelyn was anxious but couldn’t show it.
She looked around, but after the bid of A$5 million, no one seemed to want to bid anymore. Seeing that was the case, she could only acquiesce and started calling for the final bid. However, as she was about to count for the second time, a familiar melodious voice cut her off midway.
"A$20 million!"
Upon hearing that, Evelyn’s eyes lit up as she looked at the familiar private room.
When that amount was given, the hall erupted with exclamations from all corners of the hall.
Meanwhile, inside the private room where the bid had just come from, Dean was looking incredulously at Diamond.
"This .... Isn’t that a bit too much for a dagger? Even if it’s a thousand years old. I don’t think that it’s worth it!" he advised, hoping that Diamond wouldn’t recklessly waste her money like that.
But the other party simply smiled as she waved her hand nonchalantly.
"I think it’s worth it. I am curious what a cursed dagger looks like. Besides, didn’t you hear that the material is quite tough?"
As the two were busy discussing that and Evelyn calling for more bids, someone else shouted, "A$25 million!"
Bang!
Diamond slammed the table angrily upon hearing that familiar voice. Her sudden outburst caught everyone off guard as they weren’t expecting her to react like that.
Meanwhile, Evelyn was so excited, she looked at the male guest who had bid with stars in her eyes.
The cost had been covered, and now she just needed to push for more profits.
She couldn’t help but look towards the private room, hoping for Diamond to increase the bid.
Meanwhile, Diamond was on her feet, her piercing gaze in the direction from which that voice came.
"A$30 million!" in a fit of anger, she increased the bid as she tapped her ear pod.
When that was called, the other guests began to whisper excitedly to each other. Curious about what kind of beef these two people have. After all, this kind of bidding wasn’t normal at all.
"Diamond, don’t let that person anger you. The dagger isn’t worth it!"
