After a wonderful and peaceful moment in the café, Diamond and Wyatt finally left the café with smiles on their faces.
Since they both came in their own cars, they didn’t leave in the same car but drove their respective cars to the next destination, which was a restaurant.
It’s been a while since they were at the café, and the clock was ticking.
They went to the restaurant, another quiet one, and had a great meal. After the meal, the two headed for the racecourse.
Although the races were starting around 7 pm there, it didn’t hurt going early. Diamond looked forward to such a gathering. She couldn’t wait to go there.
On her way, Diamond gave the steering wheel to Andrea and started changing her clothes.
While she changed, Andrea was updating her on the people who were already on the scene. As a worried son, he wanted his mother to not feel out of place or perhaps end up provoking people she couldn’t. Though he was very confident with her skills.
Diamond listened attentively to the names and backgrounds. When she gets there, she would need to match that with the faces.
{It’s unfortunate that none of the six big families’ children would be attending!} Andrea regrettably said. Diamond chuckled at hearing that.
"You really want me to be acquainted with them?"
{Yes. It won’t hurt!}
Diamond shook her head as she took the steering wheel from Andrea and playfully asked, "Isn’t Wyatt also a child of the big six families?"
Andrea was silent for a moment before he came back online and responded, {Hehe, I lost my bearings for a moment. But you get what I am saying, right?} he asked flatteringly.
Diamond chuckled upon hearing that and responded, "Um. I get it. Anyway, it might not be a good thing to be associated with them. Besides, they should be observing me right now. I don’t want to mingle with them a lot. Having two is already good enough!"
What she didn’t like was trouble. And these people were trouble. Old and new money repelled each other like oil and water, at times. They take pride in the money, reputation and connections made over time, which she applauds for greatly to be honest.
After all, as a new money herself, she didn’t have the kind of connections that those families had. When it comes to this, even if she got defeated, she wouldn’t make a fuss.
So, she didn’t feel like seeing anyone. She hated being compared to. Knowing how prideful such people were, she would lose her temper and cause a commotion.
To avoid such troubles, it was preferable to not meet at all.
With Wyatt leading, Diamond found herself approaching the racecourse, which was on the outskirts of the city. In a completely different direction from the places she usually goes to.
If it wasn’t because of this event, she wouldn’t have used the road she drove on that day.
The first things she spotted before reaching the racecourse were the cars which were on the road. With a glance, she could tell that whoever was on the road, these people were serious about cars.
