The three touched on several other things before the meeting concluded. The reason was that Dewei called. With the address and time for the lunch date, there was no need to continue with the meeting anymore.
So, the meeting concluded.
Nancy and Kiara escorted Diamond out and on the way to the parking lot, Diamond suddenly turned to Kiara and said, "I shall send you deeds to my recent purchases. There are three buildings amongst such purchases, and you should pick one that is suitable for a law firm," taking Kiara by surprise.
"This_" however, Diamond didn’t let her raise any unnecessary doubts, and she continued.
"Pick the one you find suitable. You are in charge of the renovations. Once it’s done, it would be time for a move."
When that was said, Kiara couldn’t say a word but look at Diamond with sparking eyes.
Diamond, seeing that, nodded with satisfaction.
She was escorted to her car, and after getting on, she typed on her phone briefly and Kiara received a message. However, she didn’t look at it as Diamond was about to go.
The two ladies bade their boss goodbye and watched as the orange car speeding away.
Once the car was out of their view, Kiara hurriedly opened the message, eager to find out what more things the boss had purchased. And when she saw the documents, she let out a resigned sigh, feeling like an ant once again.
Nancy didn’t even need to ask Kiara about what she saw. She could guess already. Her lips twitched as she patted Kiara on the shoulders, asking, "how about we have some lunch and talk about that house?" piquing Kiara’s interest.
"Sure. Let’s do so!" Kiara readily agreed, as she hugged Nancy’s arm and started pulling her away.
Nancy smiled faintly as she got pulled.
Despite being old, her friend never changes.
The two friends didn’t go anywhere far but to a nearby restaurant which sold delicious home-cooked meals.
The two friends ordered their lunch and, as they waited for the food to arrive, they started talking.
"Do you plan to move out of the apartment as well?"
"Um. Although the place is good, the noise is getting to me," Nancy answered, frustratingly.
The location of Greenbay’s apartments was actually good. As long as the windows and doors were closed, the noise wasn’t an issue. But it was hot. Despite having air conditioners and fans, the windows, if they remained closed, can be troublesome.
And when it’s like that, it becomes stressful to live in such a place. So having a quitter place would be better. However, since the boss placed there them, they didn’t dare be rash about moving out.
Despite living there for free, she just wanted some quietness at this moment. That was why she wanted to move.
And Kiara’s thoughts were nearly similar as well.
"You won’t mind paying rent?"
"Hehe, rent. It’s not like after paying it we will be left with nothing," Nancy said with a shrug.
As two of the people who were in Diamond’s inner circle, their salaries weren’t a joke. The number was much better several folds compared to the previous workplaces they used to work. That was why they both didn’t complain, no matter what project they were given.
It was all worth it.
"That’s true."
