Diamond was a bit puzzled seeing Dean chuckling like that.
Could it be that she had said something funny?
"Is something funny?" she couldn’t help but ask out loud, her curiosity taking over her.
Rather than dying with curiosity, she would rather ask out loud.
Dean wasn’t expecting Diamond to ask him such a question, however, he didn’t find it a bad thing at the same time. fre.ewebnov el.com
Having direct people who didn’t beat around the bush was nice at times.
With his lips curving upward as he stole a glance at her, he said, "Not really. I wasn’t expecting you to be like this at all. You are different than I thought!" recalling how he had mixed feelings for her.
She was someone he couldn’t read at all, and at times, it bothered him a bit.
Diamond, upon hearing that, smiled relievedly. She was afraid that she might have turned into a joke in front of this man she was secretly admiring.
"Hehe, a lot of people are like that, but I tend to prove them wrong!" she said with a proud smile, thinking about the several faces she had slapped because of these assumptions.
Dean shook his head with a chuckle, speechless at Diamond’s reply.
"I guess that’s good as well!" he couldn’t help but say a moment later before he added, "I heard from the girls that you are running a charity foundation. Can you tell me why you started it in the first place? After all, it seems that it’s been spending a lot of money and hasn’t been earning much!" asking about a matter that had been ringing in his mind for a while.
Diamond turned her head to look at Dean, a faint smile on her face.
Honesty, she wasn’t expecting to hear such a question. After all, it was just the two of them in the car.
To think that he was interested in that and not the beautifully dressed her right now made her a tard disappointed but at the same time glad.
At least he was attentive. Did this mean that she might have a chance?
She needed to have backup plans. After all, her duo-ships were about to sink in a couple of days.
Nonetheless, since he was curious about this, she might as well dazzle him with her response.
"Actually, I haven’t always been rich. I was poor as heck. It was hard for my family to raise us, their two daughters. In my family, I was the most spoiled one and barely saw any suffering.
My parents made sure that I had at least the best that they could afford. Without many talents, I just wanted a better life for myself! Hehe, if I couldn’t find a well-paying job, then maybe marry a rich guy!" as she recalled that crazy dream that sent her to purgatory, she couldn’t help but chuckle.
Dean turned to glance at Diamond for a bit, puzzled about the reason why she was revealing all this.
