Diamond dumbfoundedly looked at her baby sister who had managed to truly give her a shock. She didn’t expect to see her here, despite it being a Friday.
How could she just drive all the way here to pick her up?
She couldn’t help but feel touched after all the shock and bafflement vanished.
"Happy! How can I not be happy when you have come to see me?" Diamond tearfully responded.
After everything that had happened to her, it didn’t hurt for her to see one of the people who mattered so much to her. So, she felt very touched when all the shock was gone.
Ruby pumped her fists enthusiastically celebrating a successful surprise.
"Let me carry your bag. It’s been a tiring journey!" Ruby enthusiastically said as she hurried to take her suitcase.
Diamond let the girl take the bag since pulling it wasn’t truly her favorite thing to do.
With Ruby having the suitcase, the two of them started walking towards the car and on the way, Ruby was busy chattering and making Diamond catch up with what had been happening in Frin when she wasn’t there.
To pick her up, Ruby had taken her Cagda which was more comfortable to sit in.
On their way back, the chatterbox Ruby didn’t let Diamond go at all.
"Sis, tell me, how were my brothers-in-law? Did they treat you well? Why didn’t I see you doing a broadcast with Sullivan? Was he too busy? Tell me! Hurry!"
Hearing the bombard of questions, Diamond massaged her aching temples. How could someone fire so many questions at once? free\we\bnov(e)(l).com
Was she learning to be a rapper or what?
However, seeing that look Ruby was giving her, Diamond knew that it wouldn’t end until she told the little girl what she wanted to know.
"They were both okay. I had a great time in Iwarim. Kian accompanied me every day, and we had a great time honestly!" just thinking about the wonderful time she spent in Iwarim, she couldn’t help but be emotional for a moment before recalling what happened next.
"Unfortunately for your other brother-in-law, you know how busy he is, always. We spent two days together, and we parted!" she sighed sadly as she thought of how absurd and abrupt that parting was.
Even Ruby couldn’t even believe it. She gawked at Diamond, waiting for more information.
"He received this last-minute work, so he had to go. We couldn’t even have a proper goodbye. So, I spent most of the time on my way. Thankfully, I was doing something productive, so time quickly flew!" she said cheering herself. After all, even though she failed to spend time with Sullivan, she got a mountain of treasure and much more.
Money vs love!
She who was hurt so badly by it in the past, chooses money at any time. A person can be fickle. That was allowed.
Ruby, hearing the last part, heaved a sigh of relief. She was afraid that her sister suffered a loss, but hearing her excited voice; she knew that whatever she was doing in Sullivan’s absence, it must be something groundbreaking. And that’s all that matters.
"I am glad then!" Ruby said, relievedly. "So, did you talk to them after parting? What are they doing? Still busy?"
