After checking herself and the people she had gotten acquainted with in the past nine months, Diamond could see that her affinity with mature and older women was much higher compared to the youths.
Fortunately, apart from that lady in Dielas, Ruth, whom she thought they were clicking pretty well, who ended up infuriating her with her moral thoughts, all of them were very good, which was comforting.
"Are you sure you don’t want me to introduce you to my son?" the older lady asked sulkily as she looked at Diamond.
Diamond chuckled helplessly at the lady who had been trying to match her with her son for a while now.
She wasn’t offended by what she was doing, instead; she was quite pleased with herself.
It is very rare for mothers to find partners for their children nowadays. To get such approval from the mother before the meeting, simply meant that she was satisfied with her, which was an appreciative thing on her side.
"Aunty, I really like you a lot, but I don’t want to deceive you. You are such a nice person and you deserve a good daughter-in-law!" looking at the woman who seemed chatty on the surface but somehow warm the more she looked at her, Diamond didn’t want to be cruel.
"What do you mean, you are not good? I have always had the best judgement among my siblings and relatives!" the woman boasted with pride, a genuine smile pasted on her face.
Diamond choked upon hearing that. Wasn’t this lady listening to what she was saying at all?
"Aunty. I really can’t meet your son. I have two boyfriends, brothers and in the future I might have more!" since the lady wasn’t listening to reason, Diamond decided to come clean.
However, when the lady heard that, she chuckled heartily instead, looking at Diamond as if she was seeing something very funny.
"You know, you don’t have to use such a trick to reject me!"
"Aunty, I am for real. If you don’t believe me, how about we meet my boyfriend together?" Diamond suggested helplessly as she looked at the lady.
If she was being pestered by the son, she would have kicked him several kilometers away by now. Unfortunately, the mother was so sweet and nice to talk to.
She wasn’t someone who loved lying to elders. They reminded her of her parents and the pain that they must have gone through because of all the deceit she caused them before.
The lady scanned Diamond once again, trying to gauge if she wasn’t playing tricks on her.
"You are really serious?"
Diamond hurriedly nodded. "Yes. I am not lying to you. I swear!"
Seeing her swearing, the woman went silent for a while before she opened her mouth once more. "If it’s true, why are you telling me this? Are you not afraid that I will judge you?" and asked curiously, confusion written all over her face.
