The next morning, after breakfast, Diamond left on her own and went to meet with Mr. Dike and Lucy.
Her lawyer, the one who had been handling all her assets when she started, met with her at the offices and the five of them, including Mr. Dike’s lawyer, spent some quality time together.
The process was a bit tedious, but it was worth every second spent.
It was around noon by the time everything was finished. The transfer documents of the title deeds had been filled, the money had been paid in full, and all that remained was for the buildings to be in her name.
And that was something her lawyer was pretty good at.
Speaking about lawyers, Diamond suddenly recalled Nancy’s lawyer friend. She had almost forgotten about her because of her busy schedule.
She couldn’t help but wonder if the friend was in the country or not by now.
So, when she was in the parking lot, she called Nancy to ask her as well as to meet her. She had those plans she made the other night which were going to affect Nancy, so telling her in person was the best thing to do.
After knowing where Nancy was, Diamond drove to the three-story building, which was still in full renovation mode.
She and Nancy met at a nearby parking since there was some noise at the site.
When the two met, they ordered some lunch before they started chatting as they ate.
"Is your lawyer friend in the country?" Diamond asked as she forked some spaghetti from the plate.
Nancy placed the glass of water on the table before responding, "She will be returning tomorrow. Something happened which caused her delay."
"Oh! I hope all is well, then!"
"She said that it’s fine. Which is also a relief."
"That’s good then. Anyway, when she comes, don’t forget to tell me. I will see her and if she is good, I will use her, but if not then I can only be sorry."
"Don’t worry, Miss. You won’t be disappointed!" Nancy boasted sincerely.
She might doubt other people, but that friend of hers trusted her completely.
"Um. I will believe in you then," seeing Nancy’s determination, Diamond could only acquiesce again for the moment. "Anyway, I wanted to meet you for another reason. Have you found the executives for the three companies yet?" she asked as she looked at Nancy.
Nancy swallowed her food, and took a few sips of guava juice before facing her lady boss with a response, "So far, I have been dealing more with the lower management. It’s a bit hard to find suitable people, so I didn’t want to risk it," an honest one.
When Diamond heard that, she heaved a sigh of relief.
