SRAD CITY
"Are you a fool?" a scornful female voice suddenly sounded in the dimly lit room.
"Big sister, you should have seen that person. She was so damn arrogant. How was I able to win against her?"
"Heh! Even if it’s like that. Who taught you to be so shameless and lose my face in front of so many people?"
"Sister ... I .... She provoked me first!"
"Eliza! How many times have I told you to retreat if you can’t beat the enemy?" the other woman angrily scolded as she looked at Eliza, who was now facing on the floor.
"Didn’t it occur to you even for a single second that you were being targeted at the very second? Instead of using that brain of yours, you happily fell into the trap that someone had set for you!"
Eliza raised her head and looked at her sister sadly.
Why was she reprimanding her like that?
If it wasn’t for her, would she have suffered so badly at that time?
Besides, why was she only bringing the issue now after so many weeks had passed?
The more Eliza looked at her sister, the more frustrated she became.
"Do you feel that it is unfair?" Eliza’s sister scoffed as she looked at Eliza’s expression.
Eliza didn’t dare to respond. She knew her sister very well and no matter how much she felt that it was indeed for her to suffer like that, she could only swallow her grievances.
"Humph! I guess that she must have found a supporter."
Eliza raised her head once again as she looked at her sister.
"Alaine, I thought so when I saw her. I don’t think that it’s her money that she was using at all!" suddenly Eliza’s expression brightened up as she recalled the day that she was humiliated greatly in the shopping mall.
Alaine scoffed as she thought of that pitiful and delusional girl who called herself a friend. Did she think that she would stoop so low to befriend a nobody and a gold digger like her?
She was born for greatness and there was never a day that she allowed anything or anyone that she fancied to slip away from her fingers.
Even if that person or item belonged to someone close to her. Alaine knew that she was the type of person who would do everything to snatch it away and make it hers.
So, what if she snatched her friend’s man? Since she was able to succeed, it meant that she was stronger than her.
If a woman couldn’t even protect her man, what was the point of even being in a relationship? The woman might as well just stay and sleep at home rather than go around wasting resources.
"What you told me before, was that the only thing she told you to tell me?" Alaine calmly asked as she looked at Eliza.
Eliza pondered for a while as she recalled everything that had happened that day.
"Um, that was all, but from the way she looked at me, I could tell that she would appear again. Sis, should we do something?"
Alaine laughed heartily upon hearing her sister.
"Why should we do something? Since she wants to avenge herself so much, she will appear again," Alaine said disdainfully as she played with her nails.
Eliza tilted her head as she pondered why her sister was that confident.
"You don’t have to concern yourself much with this. I will be leaving for Dielas tonight. Make sure that you behave yourself properly and don’t fight with those that you can’t. Do you understand me?"
Eliza didn’t have a choice except to agree with everything that her sister had just said.
Seeing her being so obedient, Alaine was very satisfied. What she wanted was a worshiper and someone obedient to her. Just because they were blood sisters didn’t mean that she had to pamper the other.
As long as Eliza helped her to do some miscellaneous jobs that didn’t require her full effort, Alaine didn’t mind spending money on her.
Her husband was very rich, after all, and she didn’t mind spending the money. Besides, she was operating a famous café in Srad, so money was a problem of centuries ago for her.
After talking to Eliza, Alaine began to prepare for her flight that night.
