The rate at which poachers were running rampant and killing animals was starting to get worrisome. A lot of endangered animals were only found in small numbers.
People were busy hunting elephants, rhinos and anything with tusks for their tusks and get ivory.
Some were hunting for fun and keeping the carcasses preserved as trophies. And then some loved feasting on endangered animals. Their stomachs were very important and found eating those animals a pleasure.
They felt entitled and were willing to do anything just to have a bite. With so many crazy people like that, how were these animals going to be preserved?
It wasn’t like there weren’t any domesticated livestock people could slaughter and enjoy. And yet, they still all choose to go for those wild animals that just want to live.
So, despite them being locked and caged, Diamond still felt that it was for the best. At least even if they died, someone would be there to hold a funeral for them.
She was reminded of the fateful day when her life was completely changed. All she did was run into a dead bird, which she buried and held a funeral ceremony for.
Who would have guessed that a simple act of kindness that wouldn’t have mattered to perform would give her so many blessings in the end?
Sullivan followed closely as he watched Diamond excitedly roam all over the place as she looked at the animals.
He could tell that she wasn’t faking it. She indeed loved animals and was very happy to be at the zoo.
It was only after two hours that Diamond decided to have a bite. Recalling how she had not eaten anything; the animals could still wait. Her stomach needed to be filled.
Sullivan was very happy to take her to the restaurant, where he helped her order her meal.
Diamond wasn’t picky, so she let Sullivan order what he thought was the best.
They ate as they talked, and the topic mainly revolved around the zoo as a whole.
After a wonderful meal, Sullivan brought Diamond to take a look at the remaining animals she had not seen before the meal.
"Um, what’s that over there?" Diamond asked curiously as she looked at a fancy box inside the reception hall.
Sullivan looked over to where she was pointing and spotted the box.
"Oh, that box! That is a donation box. If visitors want to contribute, they can donate whatever they want inside there. However, it’s optional," Sullivan explained to Diamond.
Diamond found the idea very intriguing. She could tell that the owner of the zoo was very rich, otherwise, he would have allowed more visitors to come. That way, they would earn more. However, he kept the zoo private and that would limit the amount of money the zoo would earn.
However, the donation box was a great idea as whatever was earned through donations could also help with the zoo.
Since she was happy, she decided to lend a hand. It didn’t matter whether there was a motive behind the box or not. Since she was in a great mood, spending money felt great.
"I want to donate too," Diamond said excitedly as she raised her head to look at Sullivan.
Sullivan was surprised to hear that. Although the box was there, not everyone loved dropping money in that box. The money that the visitors spent to enter the zoo was already huge. Who would go another extra mile to donate?
"Are you sure?" Sullivan asked doubtfully.
Diamond, however, smiled at him. She was someone who was doing charity and lately; the foundation had also been getting donations. The donations earned were put to good use and a lot of girls were helped in the process.
She didn’t know what the zoo was up to, but she was going to do it. It’s not like they were going to empty her.
"Um, I am very happy today."
Seeing her like that, Sullivan no longer had any strength to dissuade her.
In the end, before they left the zoo, Diamond donated a thick envelope and sincerely hoped that the administration wasn’t going to embezzle her donations but use it for the greater good.
After having a wonderful time at the zoo, it was time for the next course. Since the date started late, Sullivan knew that he wouldn’t be able to take her to many places.
And with her spending nearly four hours at the zoo, it was already late. By the time they entered the CBD, it was around five in the evening.
"It seems that I had too much fun at the zoo. Hehe, where are we supposed to go next?" Diamond embarrassingly asked as she looked at Sullivan.
To think that she had messed up everything by waking up late, she was starting to regret it.
Sullivan found Diamond’s expression very cute, so much he wanted to pinch her cheeks and have a feel of her.
