Chapter 91
Chapter 91
Mila’s POV
The air around me shifted–something changed, but I couldn’t put a finger on it. Something.. familiar. Then, a scent hit my nostrils. Rich, thick – Intoxicating. It wasn’t just any smell, My wall, hidden deep inside me, howled in recognition, Mate,
froze. The same expression of confesion and shock clouded Lance’s face too. He’d felt it too. The pull. But not a word was spoken. My throat ghaned, and before I could gather my thoughts, my mind screamed at me to keep quiet. To hot say anything.
Not yet.
There was something off about him. Something I needed to understand. I needed to know more before anyone, especially Elara, caught on. So walked away, leaving the women behind, heart pounding in my chest. Every step I took towards the market stalls felt heavier, fate was forcing me into confrontation I wasn’t ready for..
I cornered a vendor, my voice sharp as asked, “Tell me about Lance.”
The woman’s eyes flickered with a mixture of pity and surprise, “Lance? He’s just a blacksmith. A lowborn one.”
A blacksmith could feel the heat rise in my chest, tuming into anger. That scent, that pull it all made sense now. The life I thought deserved was crumbling before me. A noblewoman, destined for greatness, was led to a man with no title, no power.
The rage bubbled inside me, each beat of my heart fueling the fire. This was impossible. I was supposed to be rescued from this shame. From this life. And now, my supposed mate? A filthy commoner. And married? He had a child too.
I stormed of, fury blinding my vision as I made my way to his shop. He will know exactly what i think of this,
“Lance,” Ismered, standing in front of his workshop. My finger jutted out toward his chest, poking him, each word dripping with disdain. “Listen to me, you little blacksmith. You’re not worthy of me. You think I’m going to settle for someone like you? Your filthy job, the stench of metal and heat, your disgusting home it’s all revolting!”
I watched his face for a reaction. He stood there, unfazed. A small smirk formed at the corner of his lips. I hated it.
He brushed his thumb across my forehead, a movement too gentle for my liking.
“And this?” He tapped my forehead lightly. “This disgusting mark. Slave”
My heart stopped. My chest tightened with fury. I tried to grab him, to shake him for his insolence, but his grip was strong, impossibly strong. Before knew it, I was showed up against the wooden door of his shop, breath knocked out of me.
“You let me go, Lance!” I screamed, my voice trembling with anger.
His voice, low and calm, sent chills down my spine. “Go ahead, Scream. See if she dares to come inside.”
I pulled against his hold, fighting to free myself. “You think your wife will help you? Do you think she’ll even care?”
He laughed, a cold, mocking sound that made my skin crawl “Before you do anything rash, let me ask you something. Miela.”
My breath quickened, every muscle in my body temple with dread. “What?”
“Don’t you want to teach them all a lesson?” He hispered, his voice seeping into my thoughts. “Don’t you want them tog Theme Prisca All of them”
I froze, my heart skipping a beat.

He raised an eyebrow, his gaze steady and unnervingly calm. “Really? You’re going to tell on your own mate? How sad.”
I stood still, my heart pounding. His words cut through me like a knife. “What will they do to you when they find out who you really are? The same people who branded you. They’ll be a thousand times more cruel when they find out about us”
