“I’ll call your mother!” Audrey offered.
Alice did not get to call her mother. Audrey felt that Alice’s family should be present when Alice was giving birth, so she took the initiative to call Alice’s family, telling them to meet up at the hospital.
Soon after, the Stones and Lafayettes gathered outside the delivery room, waiting anxiously for Alice to give birth.
Just as Audrey had guessed, Alice did an examination and was sent to the delivery room immediately upon arrival.
Elisa posted a message on Facebook, notifying the Hunt sisters of Alice’s labor.
Zachary immediately accompanied Serenity and Grandma May to the hospital while Liberty arrived before Serenity.
Seeing the large group of people waiting outside, Liberty walked to Audrey and called out softly.
“Liberty, why are you here?”
“I saw Elisa’s post that Alice was about to give birth, so I came to see how everything was going. How long has she been in there?”
Audrey said, “It felt like she went in a long time ago. But looking at the time, I think it was less than an hour.”
They were all so anxious, so the seconds felt like years.
Clive had been pacing around the waiting room for the umpteenth time because he could not sit or stand still. He had to walk around to relieve his stress.
He just wished he could bear the excruciating pain on behalf of his wife.
Everyone said that giving birth was a ten out of ten on the pain scale.
“The baby is in the right fetal position, so everything will be fine.”
Liberty could only comfort her aunt like this.
When they wanted to see Sonny, Hank would call Liberty to get her permission before he picked him up from kindergarten. He would then send Sonny back on Sunday night, minimizing any contact with Liberty.
This was a pretty good arrangement.
Liberty could finally have some peace of mind. She no longer had to face her ex-husband’s family all the time, especially her former sister-in-law, Chelsea.
Liberty found her the most annoying.
If Hank had stopped his mother and sister from running their mouths early on in their marriage, they might not have ended up like this.
In the end, Hank and Liberty were not meant to be together. They were only married for a few years.
Now, they were co-parenting Sonny, living their separate lives.
