Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 2371

Brenda was terrified. She could not bear the thought of living another day as a house renter.

She was broke. Her children faced challenges in looking for jobs. As they had upset York Corporation, no company would give them jobs or was hesitant for fear of retaliation from York Corporation.

“Trenton! Trenton! Please put in a good word for me. Think about all the times I've been good to you. I'm sure you don’t want Camryn to drive me to the brink, right?”

Trenton was surprised to see his aunts pleading with him. He looked at his solemn sister, who showed no signs of budging. He guessed that his aunts must have done something to her while he was not in Wiltspoon.

“Aunt Brenda, Aunt Amy, Camryn is the head of the house. I don’t know why she would do that to you, but she’s not a ruthless person. She must have her reasons. Did you do something to her?”

Trenton trusted his sister wholeheartedly. Camryn would not have messed with their aunts if they had not crossed the line.

Trenton reckoned his aunts must have had it rough.

“You’re one to talk, Aunt Brenda, Aunt Amy. You know very well what you did to me. You’re the ruthless people who tried to kill me.

“I’m just getting even, but I’ve been easy on you. At least you have your families. What’s poverty when you have each other? You are able-bodied. You can get a job.”

Callum and Camryn were the cause of the Joyners’ and the Chandlers' predicament.

Camryn, especially, would not possibly have stood by and done nothing when her aunts tried to take her life—she was not a doormat.

A while later, Brenda said, “Camryn, we only found out that Paige and Cain were responsible for Abel’s death. We were angry and yelled at them for it.”

Cain later offered them many things in return for their silence.

Amy and Brenda were aware that Camryn was being abused and neglected, but they did not speak up about it. They even joined in on the bullying when they were visiting the Newmans.

“It happened so many years ago, and you have sent the culprits to jail. What more do you want? If you want to blame someone, you should be angry at Trenton. His father killed your father,” Amy said.

Amy tried to divide Trenton and Camryn.
