Julian regained his senses. His gaze was bright as he looked toward Quinn. He tried to suppress his overflowing feelings because he did not want to scare her.

“You’re amazing!”

Quinn smiled and said, “I’m not that amazing. They were just being careless and underestimating me. They were caught off guard because I attacked them out of nowhere. Making unpredictable moves is the best way to dampen their arrogance.”

“Thanks for helping me. Otherwise, I would’ve been robbed clean.”

“It’s a small matter. Anyone would’ve helped if they saw a crime happening.”

“Not everyone would do that. There were so many robbers just now. Who would dare to mess with them? I even thought of giving them everything they wanted as long as they didn't hurt me. Money is a material possession. We can’t take it with us when we die anyway.

“My life is the most important thing.”

Quinn nodded. “It’s great that you think so. When we’re outnumbered, we can only protect our lives by losing some things. However, the lost items can still be earned back as long as we stay alive.”
