Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 1955

Hayden responded, “Your name will be on the list of wedding invitations when the day comes. You will be my best man, but I expect a huge wedding gift.”

Kevin laughed. “Of course. I won’t forget the wedding gift. My only concern is that I may never have the chance to become your best man, but I can be your groom. You can keep all the wedding gifts though.”

With Hayden gritting her teeth in rage and tempted to kick him out, Kevin happily took off.

Something good came out of tonight. One thing was for sure, his nana did not lie to him about Hayden’s gender. She was a woman.

Once Kevin was gone, Hayden slammed the door with a loud bang.

Hayden was not in a hurry to get downstairs in case others might catch her together with Kevin. There would only be gossip if they were seen together.

She sat back down on the sofa, sinking her back against the seat.

Furrowing her brows, Hayden fell deep into thought.

How did Kevin know she was a woman?

Ring, ring, ring…

The phone rang.

Hayden pulled out her phone for a look. It was her mother.

It had been an eventful day, and her parents were only calling her now. It appeared her parents were slow at picking up the news.

Hayden took the call from her mother.

“Hay, is it true that Kevin publicly announced that he’s pursuing you?”

Hayden faintly replied, “Are you only finding out now? I thought the news had traveled all across the city.”

“Your father and I are on a road trip. We were occupied with admiring the sights to check the news. We didn’t know until Hugh sent a video in the group chat. We only found out after getting the details from Hugh.”

The Queens’ close acquaintances believed that Donald and Sophia would know about it since it was a big deal. It was not their place to make comments as Donald and Sophia, Hayden’s parents, said nothing.

Hayden openly admitted the incident.

“Is Kevin interested in men? He wants to chase after you even though you’re a man now. I can’t believe your dad and I wanted him as a son-in-law. To think he has a different sexual preference. We nearly set you two up together.

Sophia was relieved.

She and her husband were so close at matchmaking their daughter with the wrong guy.

“Tell Hugh to stay away from him too. What if he switches targets to Hugh when he realizes he can’t have you? I know what’s your deal, but Hugh is a different story. He’s only younger than you by ten minutes. Sure, he’s twenty-eight, but he hangs around a lot of women. I doubt he ever has a girlfriend.”

“Are you afraid that Kevin will go for him and confuse him, Mom?”

Hayden fell silent before gruffly replying, “Mom, Kevin suspects that I’m not a man.”

Sophia nearly dropped her phone.
