After a pause, Camryn said gently, “Trenton, Newman Enterprise is our family’s company, so it’s our business. If you are to side with someone, you should side with me. Bear in mind that you’re eligible for the assets of the company.

“Once college starts, work hard and don’t overthink things. We, adults, will settle our issues. Don’t be overly frugal. If you need money, just let me know. I’ll transfer money to your account.”

Trenton looked at Camryn for some time before suddenly asking her, “Can you really bear to share our family’s wealth with me?”

Trenton’s family told him that after Camryn took over Newman Enterprise, she would definitely dominate the company and forbid him from having a hand in it. She would not even share her family’s wealth with him because she hated his parents.

Even though Trenton and Camryn shared the same mother, their mother treated Camryn awfully. Camryn probably perceived her mother to be nastier than Snow White’s stepmother.

“Ouch.”

Trenton was in pain from only a pinch on the face by Camryn.

Trenton glared at Camryn and said sarcastically, “I was right. You’re being hypocritical in front of me. If it weren’t for the fact that I’m still studying, you would probably plan to trick me so the entire Newman Enterprise belongs to you. You’ve avenged your dad and vented your anger.”

This time, Camryn slapped Trenton’s face straight away instead of pinching his face.

Trenton did not evade. He got a slap from Camryn. After the slap, he felt a burning sensation on his face. While looking at Camryn, his eyes reddened, but he held back his tears.

“Trenton, is this how you think of me? You believe whatever they say, but you don’t believe what I say?”

Camryn was exasperated by Trenton.

Callum secretly sighed. He held Camryn’s hand and consoled her, “Camryn, Trenton didn’t mean it. He’s still young. There are many things he can’t comprehend.”

He regretted it. However, he could not take back what he had said.

After slapping Trenton, Camyrn took a few deep breaths. She stood up and said to Callum, “Callum, let’s go.”

She did not want to explain anymore.

It was Trenton’s choice to perceive her however he wanted.

Camryn and Trenton had different viewpoints. While they had the same mother, they had different fathers. What was more, Camryn’s mother hated her to the core and wanted to kill her badly. On the other hand, Trenton grew up in a loving family being showered with love.

He could not identify with her.
