Max noticed the Patriarch's silence and felt slightly uneasy. “Patriarch Herod, did I say something wrong? Or is there a problem with my plan?”
Herod chuckled. “It's undeniable that your way of thinking is different from conservative vampires like us. To us, the reproduction capability of vampires and the ability to develop bondslaves are limited. The belief of not being able to expand our clan on a large scale is deeply ingrained in me. But now that I heard what you said, it's like I've finally seen some light at the end of a long, dark tunnel.”
Max smiled. “It's great that you think this plan is feasible, Patriarch Herod.”
Herod responded, “Your plan is good, but there are two problems.”
Max was stunned. “What are the problems?”
Herod answered, “Firstly, you've been exposed, and you're no longer the admiral of Ariarica anymore. So how do you find a group of humankind's top scientists to work for you and even conduct research that will cause harm to humans? Besides that, even if you can get some scientists to work for you, can they discover a shortcut to turn humans into vampires in the end?”
“You don't have to worry about that, Patriarch Herod. Although my identity has been exposed, and I can't return to human society freely, my family and my clan members are still in human society. Moreover, it's a piece of cake to get a group of top scientists and build a research institute, given my family's connections and wealth,” Max explained with a smile.
After pausing briefly, Max continued, “As for whether we can find out the way to transform humans into vampires quickly in large quantity through researching the ancestral blood of elite vampires, it'll depend on the research result of the scientists. But I'm confident that they can figure something out.”
“All right, then I'll leave that to you. The hope of vampire uprising is riding on your shoulders,” Herod uttered in satisfaction.
Max's eyes darted around for a bit before he said, “Patriarch Herod, I'm now working for the vampires, but my clan has just been established, and I lost power in human society because my identity has been exposed. Due to that, I'm short of manpower, yet the other princes refuse to cooperate with me...”
Max dared not say a word in response.
Herod added, “I can only stay awake for three days this time around, then I'll fall asleep again. I can't rest easy if I'm not able to supervise the rejuvenation of the vampire clan. So you need to tell the rest of the thirteen princes to find the Four Human Spirits and bring them back to conduct the awakening ritual to wake me up from my slumber. By then, I'll be able to stay awake for an extended period of time and lead the vampires to slaughter humans. From then on, we'll be able to rise.”
What? Patriarch Herod refuses to stay asleep and requests the vampires to find the Four Human Spirits because he wants to use them as a sacrifice to wake him up. As legend has it, there are four humans of different spirit colors on Earth, which are black, white, yellow, and brown. They are the Four Human Spirits. As long as the Four Human Spirits are captured as sacrifices to conduct an ancient ritual, Patriarch Herod can be awakened forever.
Enduring the shock, Max declared boomingly, “Yes, I'll take care of it right away, Patriarch Herod.”
