Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 2865

Colin took a picture of Oreste in the ring with his phone discreetly and sent it to the Headquarters of the Chief Military Governor back in Eurasia. He then ordered Sage to investigate Oreste's background in the shortest time possible.

Without further delay, Sage ordered the intelligence department of the Headquarters of the Chief Military Governor to begin the investigation.

A few minutes later, they discovered who Oreste was.

According to the report, Oreste Legato was a student studying abroad who majored in sports.

Oreste was born into a poor family.

The Legato family was financially strapped as they had to send him overseas to continue his studies.

Despite being a student, Oreste would work part-time during his spare time to make more money to support his family.

He often worked as an assistant trainer at the gym or as a sparring partner for the boxers.

As a result, his face was often covered in bruises from the fights, and he was only paid a little for it.

It was highly possible that someone had tricked him into coming and fighting in the ring.

The person must've given Oreste a huge sum of money and asked him to fight against Rock in the ring, even claiming he was a King of Warriors from Eurasia.

Holding his phone, Colin quickly read the report sent by Sage.

He then pocketed his phone and inched nearer to Nathan. “President Cross, Oreste Legato's identity has been confirmed. He's a sports student from Eurasia studying abroad. He isn't a King of Warriors from the special forces. The organizer of the match must've deliberately claimed that he was one to attract attention.”

Hearing that, Nathan furrowed his brows. Oreste isn't a capable soldier. He's just a rookie. However, the Molten Giant, Rock, is a powerful fighter! Oreste is going to suffer a horrible defeat.

While Nathan was worried about Oreste, the match was about to begin in the ring.

The pretty host beamed and announced, “Rock, Oreste, our president, Mr. Bryon, and the President of Eurasia, Mr. Nathan Cross, are here to witness your fight. Do your best and make them proud!”

Hearing that, Rock turned to the VIP seating area and raised his muscular right arm to salute Byron.

On the other hand, Oreste was flabbergasted when he learned that Nathan was here to watch his match.

Panic flashed across his eyes as he started regretting his decision.

It turned out that the organizer had paid him one hundred thousand in Ariarican currency to participate in a rigged match.

They had also promised that he wouldn't have to risk his life.

One hundred thousand in Ariarican currency could be converted to a few hundred thousand in Eurasian currency.

This deal would allow Oreste to earn his daily expenses for the next few years and reduce his family's stress in one go.

Thus, he agreed to take up the organizer's offer.

Even if he got hurt and suffered physical injuries, it was worth it as he wouldn't have to worry about his daily expenses for the next few years.

Rock managed to spill blood with just one strike, so the audience grew excited and yelled his name.

Rock flashed a smug grin. He knew Oreste was just a rookie and had only used thirty percent of his power earlier.

Raising his fist stained with blood, he declared arrogantly, “This King of Warriors from Eurasia is nothing but a weakling!”

He also gave Nathan and the others in the seating area a pompous look.

Nathan managed to remain calm with nary an expression on his face.

However, Penny, Colin, the Elite Eight, and the rest were already scowling.

The referee scurried over to Oreste and was about to check his injuries. If Oreste couldn't continue, then the referee would announce it was Rock's victory.

However, Rock, the referee, and the audience could barely hide their surprise when they saw Oreste pushing the referee away.

He struggled and slowly got to his feet.

Wiping off the blood on his face, Oreste glared at Rock. “I fell for your trap. You can beat me up, but you can't defeat me easily. Even if I lose, I shall lose with my dignity intact!”

Rock sneered, “Ha! Since you know it's a trap, just play along and lie down on the ground. Why did you stand up? The audience is far away from the ring, so they can't hear what we're talking about.”

Oreste balled up his fists angrily and said firmly, “If this were an ordinary match, I wouldn't have minded losing. However, the Presidents of both countries are watching us. This isn't an ordinary rigged match, for it involves our country's dignity. I'm a Eurasian, so I won't give up easily.”
