Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 2744

Moments after the convoy left the area, a loud explosion could be heard in the distance, and all the lights in the surrounding streets went off at the same time.

Nathan and Penny frowned when they glanced at the streets that had been plunged into darkness.

“It looks like a major power outage,” Penny commented.

Nathan glanced at Carlos, who was seated in the passenger seat, and asked, “Ambassador Knight, are power outages common here in Eagleland?” “While Eagleland may not be as great as Eurasia, power outages aren't exactly commonplace. That is especially the case here in the capital city of Eagleland. I'll try calling the relevant authorities and see what's going on," Carlos said while dialing a number on his phone.

After getting off the phone, he turned toward Nathan and said, “President Cross, I have just confirmed this incident with the authorities. They say the transformers in several streets have exploded at the same time. Repairs are being made at the moment, but they don't know for sure when it'll be completed.”

The transformers in several streets exploding at the same time? Isn't that too much of a coincidence?

Nathan frowned at the thought of that and looked up at the dark streets ahead of him.

Boom!

A flash of lightning was soon accompanied by the rumbling of thunder as the rain started pouring down from the sky above.

We're in the middle of a thunderstorm, and there's a major power outage... Just great...

With visibility being reduced like crazy, Nathan’s convoy had to slow down as they pushed through the heavy rain.

A few minutes later, they stumbled upon a truck blocking the way. The truck had the emergency lights on and seemed to have broken down in the middle of the road.

A few burly men came out of the truck and exchanged glances when they saw Nathan’s convoy show up.

Despite being dressed like the local hooligans, the men were actually elite soldiers from Eagleland's military forces. They were known as the “Five

Musketeers.”

Morse had ordered for them to intercept Nathan's convoy and give him a beating.

The car window shattered from the impact instantly, but it did nothing to stop Owain's fist from flying toward Colin's head.

Colin cocked his head back to dodge the punch and opened the car door at the same time, slamming it into Owain and knocking him back several feet.

Colin then quickly got out of the car and stood menacingly in the rain as he stared Owain down.

As Owain's men gathered around, Ava and the Elite Eight got out of the cars in the back and rushed forward to back Colin up.

Both sides glared at each other and prepared to engage in combat.

Meanwhile, Catherine and Morse were seated in the back seat of a Cadillac SUV in the distance.

“Yes! The Five Musketeers are about to fight Nathan's guys! Will the Five Musketeers from our military prevail, or will Nathan's guards somehow win this instead? I can't wait to find out!” Morse exclaimed excitedly while observing the scene through a pair of binoculars.
