Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 2500

Soon, the soldiers returned with a man in tow. The man was gagged and bound with ropes, and he appeared to be a war captive.

Waldo grabbed the captive with one hand and flourished his dagger with the other. “Hey, Eurasian! Look at what I have here!” he shouted at Nathan.

Nathan was still engaged in battle with Isaiah. He nimbly dodged Isaiah's swinging blade and glanced in Waldo's direction.

Through the Leviathan mask, he saw

Waldo holding a Eurasian soldier hostage.

At this moment, Lucas' surprised cry sounded from afar. “Falcon!”

The Eurasian soldier Waldo had taken hostage was one of Lucas' subordinates.

It turned out that, the majority of Lucas' subordinates had lost their lives in a previous battle, save for a few who had been captured by the Volkians.

Falcon Lynch happened to be one of the war captives.

The Volkians had initially planned to lock up the war captives and interrogate them. They figured that with enough torture and brutality, they would be able to squeeze out some military secrets from the Eurasian soldiers.

The operation was supposed to be top secret, but Waldo had to reveal his trump card when he realized that Isaiah was losing to Nathan.

Waldo swung the dagger downward and sliced off Falcon's ear. He casually tossed the severed ear aside and taunted, “Look here, Chief Military Governor!”

Lucas, Fang, Destroyer, Heptakill, and the other Eurasian soldiers were livid when they saw what had happened.

“I can't believe you used a war captive to disrupt the fight! You're scum!”

“I suggest you release him right away, or we will annihilate you all!”

“How dare you touch the West Army? You're seeking death!”

Even the reporters from other countries were frowning at Waldo's despicable act. Many thought that the Volkians had neither morals nor ethics.

Of course, some Western reporters applauded the Volkians' cunning move. After all, all was fair in war. To them, a noble victory was no different from an immoral triumph—at the end of the day, all that mattered was who won the battle.

Similarly, underhanded trick or not, Waldo's act would be deemed a clever strategy as long as it helped Isaiah defeat Nathan.

Max and the other representatives watched the scene unfold with amusement.

All Isaiah saw was a blur before Nathan materialized before him.

With a surprised yelp, he slashed at Nathan with his sword.

Nathan sidestepped to avoid the blade, then quickly seized Isaiah's arm. With a forceful tug, Nathan tore Isaiah's arm off his body.

“Ah!” Isaiah's agonized cry pierced the air.

Nathan shoved the now one-armed Isaiah in Fang's direction.

Fang easily caught Isaiah and held him down.

Next, Nathan flung Isaiah’s arm toward Waldo and his subordinates. The limb landed at Waldo's feet.

“You can cut off my comrade's ear or tear off his limbs, but I promise that whatever you do to my people, I will do the same to General Swift. Also, you will suffer a fate worse than that. Hurt him again if you have the guts!” Nathan swore, his voice dripping with malice.

Waldo's face became a ghastly white as he quivered uncontrollably. He was still gripping the dagger tightly, his knuckles turning white from the force, but he dared not use it on Falcon again.
