Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) novel Chapter 2376

Nathan's expression was grim.

His grip tightened around Kylie's wrist, and sweat was rolling down furiously from the latter's forehead. “What is going on, Nathan?”

“Someone is after us. We're in danger. I need to get you to safety.”

Someone wants us dead?

When Kylie knew someone was on their tail, fear was not what she felt. Instead, a thrill of excitement rose in her heart.

She was not afraid of anything as long as Nathan was around.

She felt safe with him by her side.

Despite feeling pain in her wrist, Kylie did not complain. She stole a look at Nathan's face, and her eyes glistened in the dark.

As Nathan expected, the Hyenas found them very soon.

Nathan could tell four of them had already caught up with him when he heard footsteps coming from the dark end of the alley.

They hurried forward, pulling out their guns, but when they finally came close enough, all they saw was Kylie.

She was standing alone in the empty alley, staring at the four men in confusion. Nathan was nowhere to be found.

Where is he?

The four agents shared an uneasy look when they realized she was looking behind them.

There he is!

The four men turned around instantly, but it was already too late. Before they could even see the man, a flash of light reflected into their eyes.

The next thing they knew was a sharp pain coming from their throats.

There was no time to call for help. All of them fell to the ground with their hands on their necks.

After Nathan killed them, he rushed toward Kylie, and the two continued running for their lives.

However, before they could go far, another four men appeared.

The one who was taking the lead pulled out his gun and aimed at Nathan.

All of them took out their guns from their suits when they spotted their prey, yet before they could do a thing, a black Jeep bolted over.

The Jeep pulled a sudden break, making a deafening screeching sound before it came to a halt.

Colin kicked open the door and came down from the car, instantly whipping out his gun and firing.

Another four from the Elite Eight hopped off the car and did the same.

The remaining eight from the Hyenas were surprised to see Nathan had backup. They stood no chance when faced with the formidable Elite Eight. Under a storm of bullets, the agents were shot dead before they could even retaliate.

After the fight was all over, Colin and the others came running toward Nathan. “General! Are you okay? Sorry we came late.”

“I'm fine. Don't worry about it. Colin, could you send Kylie back first?” Kylie wanted to ask Nathan if he was coming with her, but Colin beat her to it.

“What about you, General?”

“I need to get to the bottom of this. These people were taking orders from someone. The person who fired the first shot at me just now is most probably their leader. I need to make sure I send him off to hell.”

With that said, he turned and walked off into the darkness.
