“Nathan!” A look of delight crossed Penny's face when she caught sight of him.
Prior to this, Nathan hadn't notified her of his arrival. Hence, his wife was ecstatic to see him.
As she tried to rush over to greet him, she found her path blocked by Vinson's outstretched arm.
He whispered the reminder into her ear, “Ms. Smith, didn't I make myself clear? Without Mr. Young's permission, you'd better stay put and be obedient. Don't make me do things
the hard way.”
Earlier, Penny had panicked when she saw their rough actions. However, now that Nathan was present, she quickly regained her composure. “Get away from me. Eurasia isn't a place where you can behave like crude barbarians. I also won't let you do as you please with Cross Corporation,” she retorted coldly.
Without another word, she began to make her way toward Nathan.
In a fit of rage, Vinson lunged forward and tried to stop her.
Before he could grab Penny, Vinson heard Nathan's icy voice echo beside his ear. “If your hand touches her, you'll find it severed from your arm.”
Immediately, a shiver skittered down Vinson's spine as his entire body froze up like stone.
Penny hurried over to her husband and said worriedly, “Hubby, these foreigners-”
“You don't have to explain anything. I already know what happened here,” Nathan replied before she could finish her sentence.
A look of dissatisfaction flitted across Kristoff's face when he saw how Vinson was startled by Nathan's warning. Promptly, Kristoff shot a glare at the hired hand.
Finally, Vinson snapped back to his senses. What on earth happened earlier?
I couldn't help but feel terrified when I heard Nathan's warning. In my daze, Penny escaped from my clutches.
Feeling humiliated by the entire ordeal, he strode toward Nathan. “You brat, you must be asking for it. The nerve of you to threaten me!” he roared furiously and hurled his clenched fist at the latter.
Nathan merely scoffed as he returned the attack with a punch of his own. Vinson's punch resembled an explosive weapon. The sound of roaring winds whistled in the air when he swung his fist.
As quick as lightning, Nathan lashed his leg out and landed a kick squarely on Vinson's chest. It sent the latter flying into the air before he crashed against the meeting table with a deafening bang. The weight of Vinson's body had reduced the table to smithereens.
The onlookers couldn't help but gasp in shock.
Despite Vinson's defeat, Kristoff remained as calm as a cucumber. Languidly, he took a seat on the chair while his subordinates leaped to their feet with a menacing scowl.
Similarly, the guards of Cross
Corporation had gathered behind Penny.
Kristoff ignored the group of men behind Penny and diverted his attention toward Nathan instead. “I'm surprised that you defeated Vinson. After all, he's a marine corps veteran.”
“You didn't even bother to do your research on the ownership of Cross Corporation before you came looking for trouble. Your bravery is admirable. Right now, I'm going to give you one last chance. Apologize to my wife and pay for all the damage you've caused. Furthermore, I want an official apology statement from Novah Pharmaceutical Company released to the press,” Nathan said curtly.
Kristoff and his men were stunned when they heard this. After they recovered from their shock, they quickly burst out laughing.
