Chapter 35

Chapter 35

He smirked. For being a good girl.

I stared at him. You have to be joking.”

Do I look like I’m joking? He tilted his head, amusement dancing in his dark eyes.

I opened my mouth, ready to argue, but then-

There was a knock at the door.

I frowned, but Dominic only smirked before calling out, Come in.

I shifted my blanket to cover myself up.

The room smelled of sex and cum. It was crazy he was getting someone else come here like this.

The door opened, and a staff member walked in, carrying a dark tray.

I blinked. Wait.

They set it on the nightstand beside me and left without a word, closing the door behind them.

My mouth fell open as I stared at the traysteaming pancakes, eggs, fresh strawberries, and a cup of coffee.

Breakfast.

In bed.

From Dominic.

My head snapped toward him, my suspicion immediate. Are youare you okay? Are you feeling sick?

His brow arched. Why?

I gestured wildly at the tray. Because you just arranged breakfast for me. And you’re taking me out. What is this? Are you bipolar?

He laughed, shaking his head. You wound me, Gattina.

I’m serious,I said, sitting up. Since when do you dothis?

He picked up a strawberry from the tray, twirling it between his fingers. Since today.

I narrowed my eyes. Why?

Because I want to.

scoffed, grabbing the coffee and taking a cautious sip. And you think I believe that?

Dominic’s smirk softened slightly as he leaned in, holding the strawberry close to my lips. Just eat, Gattina.

I hesitated for a second before taking a bite, the sweetness bursting on my tongue.

He watched me, his gaze darkening slightly.

I swallowed, licking my lips. Happy now?

Instead of answering, he ran the remaining piece of strawberry along my bottom lip, his thumb smearing the juice across my skin before he leaned in, licking it off with a slow, deliberate stroke of his tongue.

I shivered. Dominic-

But he wasn’t finished.

He dragged the fruit lower, circling the tip around my nipple, letting the juice trickle over my alreadysensitive skin.

My breath caught as he lowered his mouth, his tongue flicking over the sticky, sweetened bud.

Dominic,I breathed, my fingers digging into his hair.

He hummed against me, sucking gently, his hand sliding up my thigh, teasing.

You taste better than the fruit,” he murmured, licking the last of the strawberry from my skin.

I exhaled shakily. This is not breakfast.

www

His smirk was all mischief as he plucked another strawberry from the tray. Sure it is. Just a different kind of meal.

I groaned, shaking my head. You are impossib

He popped the fruit into his mouth, chewing slowly. And yet you keep coming back for more.

I rolled my eyes but couldn’t stop the small smile tugging at my lips. Fine. If I’m such a good girl, where exactly are you taking me?

Dominic leaned back on his elbows, watching me. It’s a surprise.

Chapter 35

I narrowed my eyes. I don’t like surprises.

You’ll like this one.

I sighed, picking up a fork and poking at my pancakes. I swear, if this is some weird mafia business-

It’s not.

I paused, studying him. Really?

Really. His tone was softer this time, his gaze unreadable. I just want to take you somewhere. No games. No power plays.*

I arched a brow. No power plays?

He smirked. Okay, maybe just a little.

I huffed, shaking my head. Of course.

Dominic reached for another strawberry, bringing it to my lips again.

I let him feed it to me this time, rolling my eyes as I chewed. If you’re trying to soften me up, it’s not working.

His smirk widened. We’ll see about that.

I wasn’t sure what surprised me more the breakfast, the tenderness, or the fact that, for the first time in a long time

Dominic wasn’t just taking.

He was giving.

That was dangerous.

Because if I wasn’t careful, I might start to believe this meant something.

I twirled the fork between my fingers, watching him closely as he leaned back, looking like he had all the time in the world. Like he wasn’t aware of the storm brewing in my head.

Do you do this for all the girls?I asked, my tone casual despite the sharp edge beneath it. The ones you bring home, fuck senseless, dominate, play your games with?

Dominic chuckled, shaking his head. “No.

I raised an eyebrow. No?

His lips curved into something almost smug, almost amused. If you’re getting jealous, Gattina, just say it.

I scoffed, stabbing my pancake. I’m not jealous.

He hummed like he didn’t believe me. Good.

Then he hesitated, his smirk fading just slightly. Apart fromsomeone, you are the next girl in my life.

I froze midbite.

My heart gave an unsteady lurch.

What?My voice was barely above a whisper.

Dominic nodded, completely unbothered by my obvious shock. You heard me.

I swallowed, trying to ignore the way my stomach clenched. So there was someone?

His expression didn’t change, but something in his eyes did. A flicker of something unreadable.

One experience taught me a lot.”

My grip on my fork tightened. And?

He leaned forward slightly, resting his arms on his knees, watching me like he was waiting for me to push.

I wanted to.

I wanted to dig my nails into whatever wound he was so carefully hiding.

Because Dominic never spoke about his past.

Never gave anything of himself that wasn’t calculated, controlled.

But nownow he had opened a door.

Just slightly.

And I wanted to slam it wide open.

I set my plate down and turned to face him fully, crossing my arms. What happened?

He didn’t answer.

Didn’t blink.

Just stared at me with that unreadable expression, like he was deciding whether I was worth the answer.

Seconds passed.

Then he exhaled through his nose, shaking his head. It doesn’t matter.

I clenched my jaw. It clearly does if it made you change.”

He ran a hand through his hair, a humorless chuckle escaping him. You’re persistent, you know that?

I’m curious,I corrected.

He smirked, but it didn’t reach his eyes. Curiosity is dangerous, Gattina.

So is keeping things bottled up.

Silence.

The tension between us shifted.

For the first time since I met Dominic, he lookedhesitant. Like he wasn’t sure if he should let me see this part of him. Then, just as quickly as it came, it was gone.

The wall was back up.

He stood, stretching lazily, like the conversation had never even happened.

You’re wasting time,he said instead. Finish your food. We have somewhere to be.”

I narrowed my eyes, watching him move around the room like he hadn’t just dropped a bomb and walked away from the explosion.

You can’t just say something like that and then brush it off, Dominic.

He shot me a knowing smirk. Sure, I can.

I huffed, grabbing a strawberry off the tray and popping it into my mouth, chewing aggressively.

Fine.

If he wanted to play that game, I could, too.

I grabbed another strawberry and held it between my fingers, waiting for him to turn back around.

When he did, I dragged it down my throat, slow, letting the juice drip over my collarbone, trailing lower between my breasts.

His eyes darkened instantly.

I smirked. Something wrong?

Dominic didn’t answer.

Didn’t blink.

Just stalked toward me like a predator closing in on its prey.

The air between us turned thick, suffocating.

And then-

He grabbed my chin, tilting my face up, his dark eyes burning into mine.

You play dangerous games, Gattina,he murmured.

I licked my lips. So do you. You are the most dangerous among me and you. I am not a mafia don. I am just a girl from the stripper club. Though in games like this I always win..

A slow smirk spread across his face. And yet in my games, you always lose.

I scoffed. Debatable.

He chuckled, low and deep, before leaning in, his tongue flicking out to catch the trail of juice dripping down my skin.

I shivered as he dragged it lower, licking a slow path between my breasts before sucking lightly on my nipple, his hand sliding up my thigh.

Dominic,” I gasped, my fingers tangling in his hair.

He hummed, pulling back just slightly, his lips glistening.

Eat your breakfast,he ordered.

I groaned. You’re such a-

His smirk widened.. What was that?

I huffed. Nothing.

Dominic chuckled, brushing his thumb over my lips before stepping back. Good girl.

I rolled my eyes, but my pulse was still racing.

Chapter 35

He turned toward the closet, pulling out a clean shirt, slipping it over his head.

I took another bite of my food, chewing slowly as I watched him.

Then, quietly, I asked, Why were you so cold to me before?

Dominic stilled.

His hand hovered for half a second before he continued buttoning his cuffs.

For a moment, I thought he might not answer.

Then

He turned, his expression unreadable again.

You don’t want to know the answer to that.

I swallowed. Yes, I do.

His dark eyes met mine, and for a split second, something flickered there.

Something dark. Just like him dark and dangerous literally emits from him.

And then-

You remind me of her,he said simply.

And with that, he walked out, leaving me staring after him, my heart pounding.

Who was her?

I frowned, as he looked so lost in thought.

Dominic wasn’t the type to get lost in anything. He was always sharp, always in control. But right now, something was eating at him.

And I had a strong feeling it had to do with her.

I sat up, pushing the tray of halfeaten food aside. Who was she?I asked, watching him closely.

His jaw tightened just slightly. A flicker of something unreadable crossed his features before he exhaled and ran a hand through his hair.

It doesn’t matter.

I narrowed my eyes. It obviously does if you’re still thinking about her.

Dominic turned, giving me a pointed look. Drop it, Gattina.

I leaned forward, crossing my arms. Why?

Because I said so.

I scoffed. Oh, please. You say a lot of things. Doesn’t mean I listen.

He let out a low chuckle, shaking his head. You’re impossible.

I smirked. And yet, you keep coming back for more.

His silver eyes darkened slightly, but instead of responding, he grabbed a shirt from the closet and tossed it onto the bed beside me.

Get dressed.

I blinked. Excuse me?

He raised an eyebrow. We’re leaving.

Leaving where?

You’ll see.

I stared at him, waiting for more, but he didn’t offer anything else.

Do I at least get a hint?I pressed.

Dominic smirked, already buttoning up his own shirt. No.

I rolled my eyes, but there was no use arguing when he got like this. So, with a dramatic sigh, I grabbed the shirt and slipped it on, watching him carefully as I did.

His expression was unreadable again, locked up tight. But there was something there.

Something about her.

Something he wasn’t telling me.

I was determined to find out.

****

Fifteen minutes later, I found myself stepping onto the rooftop of a sleek, modern skyscraper, my hair whipping in the wind as the loud whir of a helicopter’s blades filled the air.

I stopped short, staring at the aircraft waiting for us.

“Are you serious?I shouted over the noise, turning to Dominic.

He smirked. What, scared?

I scowled. No. Just surprised.”

Good.He grabbed my hand, pulling me toward the helicopter without another word.

The pilot nodded in greeting as we climbed in, strapping ourselves into the plush leather seats.

I glanced at Dominic as he adjusted his headset, looking every bit the unbothered, arrogant bastard that he was.

You do realize most people just take a car when they go on johte nursed.

He chuckled, reaching over to buckle me in tighter his fingers brushing over my stomach. Most people aren’t me.

I rolled my eyes but didn’t push further. Instead, I sat back as the helicopter lifted off the ground, my stomach flipping slightly at the sudden motion.

We soared higher, the city sprawling beneath us, lights twinkling like a sea of stars.

Chapter 36

It was breathtaking.

I turned to say something to Dominic, but the words died on my lips.

Because he was already watching me.

His gaze was heavy, smoldering, as if he’d been waiting for this exact moment.

What?I asked, my throat suddenly dry.

He smirked, unbuckling his harness.

My eyes widened. What the hell are you doing?

Without answering, he reached over and did the same to mine, loosening the strap just enough before leaning in, his lips brushing against my ear.

You think you’re the only one who can tease, Gattina?

I shivered.

His hand slid up my thigh, slow, deliberate, his fingers tracing over the hem of my dress.

I swallowed hard. Dominic-

Shh.His lips ghosted over my jaw, his fingers already slipping beneath the fabric, parting my legs just enough.

I sucked in a sharp breath as his fingertips brushed against my panties, teasing, barely touching.

You’re already wet,” he murmured, his voice thick with amusement.

I clenched my jaw. You’re impossible.”

He chuckled. You keep saying that.

Then-

He pushed my panties aside.

A gasp tore from my lips as he slid a finger inside me, slow, deep, his palm pressing against my clit.

Dominicfuck-

He hummed, adding a second finger, stretching me slightly as he curled them just right.

The roar of the helicopter filled my ears, but all I could focus on was himhis touch, his breath against my skin, the way he controlled every inch of me without even trying.

My head fell back against the seat, my thighs trembling as he moved, his pace agonizingly slow.

You love this, don’t you?he murmured.

I bit my lip, refusing to answer.

He smirked, pressing his thumb against my clit, circling, rubbing in tight, perfect strokes.
