"Alright," Sophie muttered as she adjusted her pajamas to cover the bruises on her body. "Get a few people ready for me. I need to pay a visit to the Burke family."
"How many people do you need?" the maid asked.
Sophie pondered for a moment. "The more, the better."
The maid quickly set off to arrange for the driver and gather some staff.
By noon, Sophie was all set and on her way to the Burke family estate.
Meanwhile, inside the Burke family residence, Nichole was deep in thought, trying to figure out how to come up with the ten billion dollars she had boasted about in front of Sophie. She couldn't afford to fall short now.
Just as Nichole was lost in her thoughts, the front door of the Burke mansion was kicked open, and a group of people stormed in.
Nichole, hearing the ruckus from upstairs, rushed down.
On the first floor, Marian, startled by the noise, helped Bea out of the bedroom.
They were greeted by the sight of Sophie, striding into the Burke mansion in a black leather jacket and matching boots. Bea almost didn't recognize her in such a wild, punk outfit.
Sophie smiled faintly. "Bea, long time no see."
Bea's eyes narrowed. "I thought it was someone else. So, it's you! You've already divorced James, so what are you doing here? And bringing all these people? Do you think this is a public market?"
"Naturally!" Bea didn't hesitate to throw Solana under the bus.
At that moment, two bodyguards from the Aldridge family dragged a battered Solana in front of Bea. Solana was covered in bruises, her face a mask of terror.
"Solana, your aunt says this was all your idea. Is that true?" Sophie asked, feigning ignorance.
When Sophie was with Odie, she had already pieced together Bea's involvement. After returning to Devonport, she had secretly asked Gordon to find Solana. But before she could act, Odie had taken her away. Now that she was back, there was no way she was letting Bea off the hook.
"Ms. Sophie! This has nothing to do with me! It was all my aunt's doing! I wouldn't dare to kill anyone. I was just following orders! Ms. Sophie, please, have mercy!" Solana sobbed, dropping to her knees and pleading for forgiveness.
Gordon's methods were notoriously brutal, and during her captivity, her husband had beaten her daily. Solana was at her breaking point.

Awaiting new chapters plzzz...
when will new chapters release??...
Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
Excellent novel!...
When will you upload the next chapter...
