Solana watched Nichole and Bea getting along so closely and stood awkwardly to one side.
After a few pleasantries, Bea glanced at her and asked, "Why are you still standing there?"
"I..."
Solana felt a bit embarrassed, and Bea, losing patience, waved her hand and said, "Go home for today. Rowena and I need to talk in private."
"But..."
Solana wanted to stay, but Bea's attitude was clear.
With a smile, Nichole glanced at Solana and said, "It seems like Solana has something she wants to discuss with you, Grandma. Maybe I should leave first."
Bea listened to what Nichole said and didn't respond. Solana took the hint and said, "No, I have some things to handle at home. I'll leave now."
Solana sheepishly retreated, casting a few more glances at the ring on Nichole's finger as she left. If she remembered correctly, that ring was a Burke family heirloom.
Could it be... that Bea wanted to arrange for James and Nichole to marry?
If that was the case, wouldn't there be one more member of the Burke family to share the fortune with?
"Marian, pour Ms. Rowena some water."
"…Yes, Madam."
It took Marian a moment to snap out of it. She hurried to get water, but her gaze constantly drifted towards Bea and Nichole.
Sophie glanced at James coming downstairs, dressed in a simple navy-blue loungewear. Upon seeing each other, both were momentarily lost for words.
After familiarizing themselves with the script the next morning, Sophie and James left the secluded courtyard with the production team.
They were about to meet the other three guest groups at a large mansion rented by the production team for the live broadcast, where everyone would stay together during the show.
"Ms, Sophie, you're really beautiful."
A pretty young woman gave the compliment. She looked to be the youngest there at about twenty-seven. Sophie recognized her as an artist from Aldridge Global named Heather, whose ex-husband was Kayden, a somewhat famous actor in the entertainment industry.
It was rumored that the two had been in love since they were seventeen and got married four years later, only to announce their divorce later. The official reason was a lack of affection and frequent separations, which led to their decision to part ways.

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
Excellent novel!...
