Mikayla was not going to have a good night's sleep if she didn't say that. Lately, Carlos had been touching her every night, keeping her up.

Grinning, Carlos said, "Let's see what excuse you've got tomorrow to turn me down."

"So, how about giving me a break tonight and letting me sleep peacefully?" Mikayla smiled faintly. She wasn't heartless. She understood Carlos' intentions well. It was natural for couples to be close. Besides, they were in love now, so it was okay.

She could let go of her feelings for Jaxon, and there was no need to hide her love for Carlos.

Carlos smirked mischievously, pulling the blanket over them. "I'm not letting you off the hook."

The blanket moved as Mikayla laughed and pleaded occasionally. Carlos just wouldn't give her a break.

Suddenly, Mikayla's phone rang. Swatting away Carlos' wandering fingers, Mikayla reached for her phone. Carlos took advantage of the distraction, his actions growing bolder.

Mikayla finally managed to reach her phone, but in order to stop Carlos, she had no choice but to retract her hand once again.

"Carlos, keep it up, and I won't let you touch me tomorrow!" Mikayla warned.

Carlos complied and let go. "You take the call. I'll grab a quick shower."

He thought, 'Who could be as unlucky as I am? She turned me down on the wedding night. Just when things were heating up, Mikayla's period came. I have to take showers to calm myself down. And now, I'm being threatened by my own wife.'

Carlos got up and casually tied his bathrobe around his waist, all smooth and sexy-like.

Mikayla lay on the bed, relieved as she watched him head to the bathroom. She had to throw a tantrum before he finally stopped.

The phone on the bedside table kept buzzing without a break. Mikayla snapped back to reality, grabbed the phone, and answered.

"Mikayla, I hope I'm not interrupting your happy time with Carlos." Juliet couldn't contain her excitement.

Mikayla, feeling helpless, was already tired of Juliet bringing up sex since she got married. "Cut to the chase!" Even with a close friend like Juliet, Mikayla still didn't want a chat. 'It was the dead of night, for goodness sake! What was Juliet even thinking?' she roared inwardly.

"Why the rush? Are you angry because I interrupted you?" asked Juliet. If Juliet were in front of her right now, Mikayla would surely pick up a pillow and chuck it at her. Aside from Juliet's voice, the deafening music on the phone made it clear that Juliet was having a crazy night.

"No way! My Mr. Right is Brantley!" Juliet spat.

"The whole nation knows that Brantley is your man. Can we move on?" Mikayla heard the splashes in the bathroom were gone, so she decided to end the call. "I'm hanging up. Carlos is coming out."

Just before Mikayla hung up, Juliet managed to finish her sentence. "You sure are more interested in men than friendship. You've got to hang out with me after work tomorrow. Seriously, you're practically all about Carlos these days."

Mikayla just hung up the phone when Carlos, who looked absolutely charming, emerged from the bathroom. Although his expression was a bit icy compared to when he was in the mood for sex, combined with that slightly aloof and lazy demeanor, he looked like the most perfect guy ever.

"I'm going to bed. Go sleep in the next room." Mikayla wrapped herself up tightly, leaving nothing exposed. If she got Carlos all fired up again, they really wouldn't need to sleep tonight.

When Carlos wanted to have some fun, he wouldn't stop anytime soon. It felt like he was always bursting with energy. He'd keep her up all night, and the next morning when she opened her eyes, he was already up.

"How can I sleep elsewhere? A couple should sleep in the same bed," Carlos said as he moved closer to the bed.
