Juliet watched Elvis drag Kashton away with the corners of her eyes twitching.
She thought, 'They are just meant to be. Fortunately, Kashton didn't say anything wrong. Why do I look like I am having an affair and afraid of being spotted?'
Brantley asked, "Who are they?"
Juliet came to her senses and said with her eyes glittering under the light, "They're friends of Mikayla's husband, Carlos, you know him, right? Didn't you see him at the wedding?"
Brantley said, expressionless, "Is he the man who drove you home last time?"
"It's him!" Juliet explained, "It was so late that night so he drove me home."
To Juliet's surprise, Brantley still remembered it.
Brantley narrowed his eyes and cold light flashed in them. He snorted, "Don't hang out with them anymore, especially the man who drove you home! He's working in the nightclubs."
Juliet nodded obediently. "Okay, I'll do as you say."
Walking out of a store selling luxury menswear, Brantley said he didn't want to buy more things. He insisted on buying Juliet a piece of clothing and jewelry saying that he hadn't given her any gift since they started to date each other.
Juliet was even more happy.
She even thought she should buy a lottery ticket today.
After all, it was a day of so many delightful surprises.
She deliberately ignored the unpleasant encounters with Kashton and Elvis.
All she was thinking about was that Brantley had turned down the mayor's daughter and wanted to give her a gift.
Kashton thought he was fucking useless.
Not only Carlos but also Elvis always threatened him.
He thought he was so stupid that he even wanted to help Elvis find a girlfriend.
Kashton thought, 'Why the hell am I worrying about him? He doesn't appreciate it at all.
'I don't even have a clue about my own problem.'
Kashton didn't fully believe what the fishy prophet of his family said.
Besides, he didn't know where to find his "lucky star".
Kashton thought, 'Why don't I try my luck at the hospital? But I will be scared! I am only brave when dealing with women. Since childhood, I have been scared of going to hospital. I always get the feeling that I will never leave there again.'
Kashton's mother went to the hospital after she was ill. However, a medical accident happened and his mother died. His father made a scene at the hospital. he was deeply in love with Kashton's mother. Otherwise, he wouldn't have stayed single for so many years. He never remarried.
Kashton stopped thinking about the past and decided to focus on what was happening now.
After Elvis dragged Kashton away for a while, Kashton glanced at Elvis. "All right. They're gone."
Elvis let go of him.
Kashton said, "Elvis, don't blame it on me. You are grown up! So many years have passed. Do you still believe what my father and doctor said?"
Elvis ignored Kashton. He picked out two pieces of clothes in his size at random and asked the shop assistant to bring him the bill.
Seeing that Elvis didn't answer him, Kashton snorted.
Kashton said, "Elvis, you're a miracle! Carpe diem. If you don't want a serious relationship, be a playboy. There are so many young chicks in Septem Nightclub. You can choose whomever you like. There will always be one for you. Do you want me to teach you a lesson about it?"
Finally, Elvis said coldly and bitterly, "Kashton, I am different."
"You can leave now," said Mikayla.
Quinnlyn walked out of the office. Mikayla continued to work.
As the clock ticked, there was more and more work to do.
Maxius would go back to Xosa tomorrow. They would try out the computer again in two days and then it would be put into mass production. They had to discuss and make preparations for the following matters so they didn't have any time to waste.
Now, they had to solve the matter about the spokesperson.
After lunch, it was about time for the appointment.
They finished the contract termination agreement and the other documents required.
Mikayla left the office forty minutes early with Quinnlyn and Patricia. They arrived at the café where Quinnlyn had booked a private box fifteen minutes earlier.
Mikayla didn't like being late for a business talk.
It was rude so she always arrived earlier.
The three of them went into a private room led by a waiter.
Seeing that they were a little bit earlier, Mikayla told Quinnlyn and Patricia the do's and don'ts.
Mikayla raised her hand again to check the time. "Well, it's almost time. Quinnlyn, wait for them outside."
As time went by, Mikayla frowned more and more deeply.
After more than half an hour, the rock star Lauren and her agent Wilson arrived.
