Reckless Marriage Unyielding Love novel Chapter 147

Winona looked at her brother with a mix of frustration and disappointment.

Mildred, listening to her daughter's words, chose not to interfere. She didn't think her son was entirely wrong; it was just the nature of children. Huxley lacked a bit of maturity.

Of course, as a mother, she could only silently watch over them, knowing well that both of her children were precious to her. Mildred decided to stay quiet.

"Winona, I have plenty of ways to make Salvatore Group thrive," Huxley insisted. Once he got that position, he was sure he could steer the company in the right direction with his vision and determination.

"Look, Huxley, I know you're smart. But I've got things I need to handle in my own way. Before we can think about making Salvatore Group great, we need to get it back first. So, you'll need to learn a bit of patience," Winona said, half coaxing and half instructing him.

"Fine," Huxley reluctantly agreed.

Seeing her brother relent, Winona glanced around to ensure they were alone, then turned to Mildred. "What has Thalia been up to lately?" she asked.

"She went to visit a classmate. There's some sort of reunion. She'll be back today or tomorrow," Mildred replied.

"Alright," Winona said thoughtfully. "Once she's back, keep her at home. I'll call her in a couple of days."

"Did you find a job for her?" Mildred inquired.

Winona's eyes drifted to the garden outside, where the newlywed couple was enjoying their time.

"I'll talk to you about it later," she said.

After dinner, which extended until twilight, Logan's family didn't linger. Once they left, a palpable sense of relief washed over everyone at the Salvatore manor.

Every time Logan visited, the atmosphere tensed up as if an emperor was inspecting his domain. The staff of the Salvatore manor dreaded his presence. If Logan was displeased, he'd often get Jorge to fire someone on the spot. If not, he'd make sure to question why they were still employed the next time he visited.

In short, no one liked their visits.

After Logan's family departed, Carlos and Mikayla left. Sylvia even packed some of Mikayla's favorite snacks for them.

The black car cruised down the streets of Xosa. Spring had arrived, and the days were getting noticeably longer. The city was slowly coming to life again after the cold winter.

Mikayla rolled down the window, gazing at the bustling streets of Xosa, taking in the fresh spring air.

"You seem to be in a good mood," Carlos remarked, his eyes glancing over at Mikayla.

"It's a rare moment to not have anything on my mind," Mikayla sighed, letting herself relax. Tomorrow, work would demand her full attention again. The wedding had already set her back, and she'd likely need a few late nights to catch up.

"How about we take a honeymoon trip after you finish this round of work? It'll give you a chance to unwind," Carlos suggested.

Mikayla turned to look at him and thought, 'Honeymoon? Right, that's something newlyweds usually do.'

"Sure! Where should we go?" she asked, having almost forgotten all about it.

"No rush. We've got plenty of time to plan something perfect," Carlos replied, a mysterious smile playing on his lips.

Somehow, Mikayla had a gut feeling that the trip might not be just a simple honeymoon.

Their conversation flowed effortlessly as the car pulled into their villa's driveway.

Back in her room, Mikayla went through her evening routine before sitting in front of her computer. She reviewed files and planned out tasks for the following day.

Chapter 147 2

Mumbling to herself, she wondered how her broke brother managed to book a private room on the seventh floor. Someone must have been swindled by him.

On the seventh floor, Juliet found a handsome waiter, showed him the message on her phone, and was swiftly led to the room. She pushed the door open and stepped inside.

The door automatically closed behind her the moment she stepped inside. Without thinking much of it, Juliet walked further into the room.

Themed in vibrant shades of red, the private room's fiery decor instantly contrasted with the figure of a man dressed in all black—Elvis, with his legs crossed, leisurely sipping on a glass of Remy Martin.

A quick glance confirmed that, aside from him, the room was completely empty.

"Xavier invited you too?" Juliet approached him.

"Kashton called me over," Elvis replied coolly, barely glancing at her.

Kashton? Juliet felt a shiver run down her spine and quickly turned to leave. But the door wouldn't budge.

Of course, nothing good ever came from getting involved with Kashton. She couldn't believe her own brother would sell her out.

Chapter 147 3

He hung up before she could respond, and when she tried calling back, his phone was off. Again and again, the call couldn't go through...

Juliet nearly smashed her phone in anger. 'If he likes Elvis so much, maybe he should marry him!' she thought.

Whenever she got her hands on that kid, she was definitely dumping him on Elvis's bed.
