Mikayla thought, 'Reward, huh? Seriously? It's been a long day today. I racked my brain, so I'm exhausted. And you dare to ask for a reward? You're over 30 but still so shameless!'
"Well, didn't I do well today? I even made sure Mom and Dad didn't disturb you. Shouldn't you be grateful and give me a little reward?" Carlos leaned casually against the doorframe, exuding an effortless elegance and nobility.
Again, Mikayla thought, 'So that's why Garrett and Selena hadn't been around at the Ludwig mansion all afternoon. It was his doing.'
At that thought, Mikayla opened the door, leaned in, and planted a kiss on Carlos' cheek. It was a small token of appreciation.
She thought he was deserving of this kiss.
"Is that all?" Carlos' gaze lingered on Mikayla's rosy lips, clearly indicating he expected more.
'This man...' Mikayla thought.
Mikayla bit her lip, then tilted her head up, aiming for his lips.
But Carlos was faster, eagerly capturing her lips in a passionate kiss, his heart swelling with satisfaction.
The kiss grew wilder and more demanding.
Soon, a simple kiss wasn't enough.
Before Mikayla could fully grasp what was happening, Carlos lifted her into his arms and strode toward their bridal bed, ignoring her feeble protests. He gently placed her on the bed and leaned over her, his imposing figure casting a shadow.
Mikayla's handbag was snatched from her grip and tossed aside in an arc.
"My dear Mika, you were truly impressive today," Carlos murmured, his eyes filled with admiration.
"Reconsider now, if you want to," Mikayla warned.
"All I want right now is to conquer you in bed." Carlos smirked.
Mikayla was left speechless.
She wondered why he only had these thoughts.
Before she could say another word, his lips silenced her.
The delicate scent of her body completely aroused Carlos, making his kisses even more passionate.
Unknowingly, Mikayla began to respond to his fiery kisses.
She felt his hand caressing her exposed wrist, his touch tracing her pulse, eventually stirring her heart.
Mikayla had no time to stop him.
She thought, 'He's playing games with me now!'
"Hmm... No... Don't... touch..." Mikayla's words emerged in broken fragments, barely coherent between their kisses.
The air was thick with a sense of intimacy.
Just then, an unexpected ringing sound shattered the moment, extinguishing the fiery passion between them.
Mikayla pushed against Carlos, who clung to her, his kisses leaving her dazed.
The phone rang incessantly, refusing to be ignored.
Eventually, Carlos released her lips, standing upright, his body aflame with unfulfilled desire.
Mikayla, meanwhile, was frantically searching for her phone, her mind racing to remember where she had left it amidst their passionate chaos.
At last, she found it, discarded in a corner with her handbag.
Just as she was about to answer, the ringing stopped.
The next morning, she stared at her reflection in the mirror, noticing the dark circles under her eyes.
She applied a light layer of makeup to cover them, pulled her hair into a high ponytail, and instantly looked more refreshed.
Downstairs, Carlos, dressed in a casual V-neck shirt, was already seated in the glass-walled dining room, elegantly reading a newspaper.
He seemed to be waiting for her.
Upon hearing her footsteps, he folded the newspaper and patted the seat beside him. "Mika, come sit with me."
Ignoring him, Mikayla chose the seat opposite him.
He had made her lose sleep last night, and she was still annoyed.
As Carlos saw her sulky expression, he chuckled and set the newspaper aside. "Are you upset because I didn't satisfy you last night?"
Just then, Dexter arrived with a trolley, serving Mikayla and Carlos their breakfast, as if he hadn't heard a word of their conversation.
Mikayla, however, felt her ears burning and glared at Carlos.
"Carlos, can't you watch what you say?" she warned.
"So, Mika, what would be the appropriate setting for such a conversation? When we're alone?" Carlos raised an eyebrow playfully.
Mikayla was at a loss for words.
Fuming, she stabbed her fork into a steamed bun, causing it to squirt broth.
She wondered, 'How can he twist my words so easily?'
"Mika, don't play with food," Carlos teased.
