Chapter 1153 Terminal Illness
“Slow down. Don’t be so reckless.”
His yell stumped her again. Kisa wondered why he thought she was doing something dangerous when she was just casually getting out of bed. She frowned and could not help but become suspicious. She went to his side, looked at his serious face, and cautiously asked, “Gilbert, do I have some kind of terminal illness?”
Gilbert frowned and angrily said, “Can you say something nicer? Why do you always have to curse yourself?”
“It’s not that I want to curse myself. But, your behavior in the past two days was too strange. When Kelvin examined me just now, it also felt strange. It felt like you two had something to hide from me,” Kisa said, taking a deep breath. “Just tell me what kind of incurable illness I have. If it’s not a very serious illness, why do you suddenly take such good care of me? Is it because I’m dying, so you are suddenly being so nice to me?”
The more Kisa said, the angrier Gilbert became. But, he held back his anger, put the meal on the coffee table, and said to her, “Let’s eat first. Don’t overthink.”
Kisa forced a smile. “When you say that, I will think even more. Tell me, is there something bad growing in my body? Otherwise, why did I need an ultrasound?”
Gilbert was so angry that he looked out the window. He gritted his teeth, feeling that her imagination was off the charts.
“Gilbert, just tell me my condition. After so many years, going through so much and almost died, I have nothing else to fear.”
Kisa glanced at him and asked, after a long moment of hesitation, “You’re not mad at me anymore?”
Gilbert’s face was stony, and he said nothing. Just as she stopped asking and ate her meal, he suddenly asked, “What do you think I’m angry about?”
“What happened the other morning. I actually-”
He suddenly stood up and interrupted her. “I don’t want to talk about what happened that morning. In fact, you have every right to take revenge on me. After all, I have wronged you a lot. So, as I said before, I wouldn’t complain even if you kill me.”
