I have had enough of lots of shots in my entire life. But, not anymore. And when I realised that it was my cousin, who was also involved in scheming against me, I most all the hope from everyone.

No one is worth believing and somewhere, Augustus's paranoid side is much better, I feel.

It was really hurtful to know that Carina did this to me. And currently, I am standing in her bedroom, right before her.

She is sobbing in the middle of her confession. And I can only stare at him. She thought I will take away Mateo from him and that's why she did that? Is she crazy enough?

I could not help but laugh bitterly. "You know, Carina. You are the biggest stupid I have ever seen! Even more than me." She looked up at me and I smirked at her.

"Yeah, you are. Mateo used to come to the pack school to train us. He was good at his work and earned lots of admirers. And I was one of them. It wasn't a romantic crush against him, but an admiration. It was an appreciation for him. And you are too blind in your hate for me that you believed Alice with your eyes closed? Do you even know, what you caused me?"

"I..." She tried to speak when I lost it.

"SHUT UP! SHUT THE FUCK UP!" I shouted at her, not caring about anything.

"My mate do not trust me now! He thinks I tried to synchronise his scent with Adrian's because I want to be with him! Whereas, all I want is Augustus! He didn't come home for three days! He..." I could not hold my tears anymore and cried.

I shook my head. "Why? Why will I suffer because of you? Do you think, I can not let them know this?"

Carina shook her head, she is still crying on her knees. "I am so sorry, Charlotte. I didn't know this. ple... please don't tell this Mateo and Alpha. Please..."

As I was about to speak, suddenly, the door of the bedroom burst open and revealed a very angry... Mateo!

I was shocked as I watched him. He bowed at me first, and then his furious eyes landed on his mate.

Carina too noticed him.

"Mm... Mateo, you..." She stumbled both in her words and feet.

Mateo stepped inside, enraged. "How dare you! How could you do such a thing to Luna!?" He growled at her and by his words, it was sure that he heard all our words, maybe.

"Wha... what are you talking... About!?" Carina stuttered in nervousness.

"Do not pretend, Carina. I have heard all of it. How could you do this to your own sister!? When you said, you want to invite Luna to your party, I was happy. I thought the conflicts between you will be resolved finally. But, you!? You have a different plan! How could you do this!? I am so ashamed of you!"

"You know the answer well, don't you, Mateo? Your Alpha never believed me! For months, I tried to repent for my mistakes. I sacrificed lots of things just for him. I tried to be cautious just to earn his trust. And at the end, what he said? He knew I was acting and he was doing that all along?"

I shook my head, "Even today, after knowing this truth, he won't start trusting me at all. I lost before the game he is playing. And I don't want this anymore. I have had enough of this and I won't take anymore."

"This trust issue is his problem and no matter how many proofs I present him with, he will only believe, what he wants to believe. So, there is no need for telling him anything." Saying my words, I turned around and left their room and soon, I walked out of the mansion.

I get inside the car and drove home. For the last three days, I am living without my mate and even though Sierra is frustrated too, she never asked about Augustus.

She is so angry at him because of his behaviour. And we both decided that we don't need our mate who distrusts us at every step. Even at this point, he does doubt me.

Although he did not return home, or stop me from going anywhere, he has his guards planted behind me. That day, I heard Lucinda reporting my daily movements to her Alpha.

Gavin is always following me and those CCTV in the house. Augustus himself kept following me everywhere. I won't be surprised either if he implanted one or two cameras inside the bathroom.

I did not protest and let him. I also want to see how long he does this. I have accepted my life and for three days, I move around without a hint of dissatisfaction.

With just one hope inside me that one day, my mate will trust me too...
