Suddenly, Alice, who was already semi-conscious, sat up with a jolt. The goldenseal chicken soup that she had drunk previously came spewing out in projectile vomit. She coughed profusely for a while before slumping back onto the ground like she was drained of all her energy.
"How're you feeling, Mom? Does your tummy still hurt?" Paul was quick to help Alice sit up.
"I…" Alice's face was ashen, but at least she could speak now.
"M-My tummy… It doesn't seem to hurt that much anymore."
After throwing up, Alice felt alive again. The pain in her belly was no longer as excruciating as before. Other than a slight dizziness, her other food poisoning symptoms were slowly disappearing.
"Are you really okay now?" Diana and Harold were still suspicious. Very quickly after, Alice stood up from the ground.
"Water! I want to drink some water!" Alice had regained some energy.
She grabbed the water jug on the table and gulped down the water quickly.
To think that the chicken soup she had drunk was indeed a poisonous one! She just wanted to drink more and more water so she could flush all the toxins out.
Everyone got the fright of their lives. After seeing that Alice was okay, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
However, how did Alice suddenly become better? Did Yolanda really save her?
After Alice came back with vigor and life, the atmosphere in the dining room had become awkward.
Those who had pointed fingers at Yolanda felt their faces burning. It felt like someone had slapped them several times.
"This is just a coincidence, right?" Joe muttered. He pursed his lips and thought, "Good thing my wife threw up all the soup."
"Did you really believe that Yolanda the useless trash knew how to do acupuncture?" Joe added.
If a goldenseal was only sold for 50 dollars each, how could it possibly be a real one?
"This isn't fun and games, Diana. I nearly died." Now that Alice was no longer in pain, she started stirring up trouble.
This time, she had food poisoning at the Hendersons, and the Hendersons were clearly in the wrong. She had to take this opportunity to bring home some good stuff, taken from them of course.
"If I was unlucky, I might have really just died."
"Aunt Diana, we really cannot be eating fake, counterfeit goods. I thought since your family is so well-to-do, the food you serve must be elite and grand. Why would something like this happen?"
Paul and Alice were blood-related for sure since they both had the same idea.
"This is too dangerous. What if the toxins are still in the body? I should get my mom to the hospital to do a comprehensive body checkup, and of course, the cost of this will be borne by you, Aunt Diana."
