Rebirth: Leading Families to Survive in the Apocalypse novel Chapter 349

Chapter 349 -349: Sky-High Price

Wan Peng shook his head and said to the others, “My sister is like that, she can’t bear to see others suffer, sigh.”

Su Jin watched Wan Li walk away, and memories of Xia Mufei from her past life surfaced. It was a pity that, without some changes, such people might be doomed to not last long in the apocalypse.

The woman took the bread from Wan Li’s hand and began eating voraciously, as if scared Wan Li would ask for it back.

The child by her side whimpered, indicating a desire to eat, and only then did she tear off a piece to share with the child.

“Woof woof woof!”

At that moment, Ah Wang began barking for some reason, and Wan Peng hurried over to hold him back to stop the barking.

“Ah Wang, stop barking, you’re disturbing everyone!” Wan Peng lded.

“Whine~”

Ah Wang’s ears, a mix of yellow and white, drooped down, looking utterly wronged.

“Behave, Ah Wang, we’ve had many neighborsmplain about your barking being too loud. Let’s go back, okay?”

Wan Peng seemed to really like Ah Wang; he even held the dog in his arms as he walked back with Wan Li toward Su Jin and the others.

“Your dog is quite extraordinary,” Su Jinmmented.

A mutant dog that still obeys its owner, and its body hasn’t grown larger at all.

“Hehe, because I’ve been raising it since before the apocalypse. After it mutated, it never hurt us siblings and has been protecting us,” Wan Peng said, his expression softening as he spoke of Ah Wang, showing his deep affection for the dog.

“How do you know it mutated?” Lin Xiuyuan asked curiously. After all, Ah Wang didn’t look very big, and if it weren’t for Mao Qiqi saying it was a mutant animal, they would’ve always thought it was a normal dog.

“Don’t let appearances fool you, it’s a water element. Although it’s not very useful, haha,” Wan Peng said, and sure enough, Ah Wang actually spat out a small waterlumn onto his face.

“…”

Su Jin watched with amplex expression as Wan Peng laughed heartily.

That was water sprayed out from a dog’s mouth…

She still felt she wouldn’t be able to handle that herself.

In the meantime, Wan Peng and Wan Li had already led them to a few empty rooms.

Eventually, Su Jin and her group picked the one furthest inside. This room was a bit farther away from the nearby occupied rooms, which she felt was better.

Wan Peng and Wan Li were living in two opposite rooms.

“There are plenty more empty rooms here; you can pick another one,” Wan Li said as she saw the group choosing only one room. Even though the room had six beds, it was quite cramped for all of them.

“No need, this is already very good, we’re used to sticking together,” Su Jin declined.

Wan Li thought Su Jin was saying that thenditions here were already much better than where they had lived before anduldn’t help but feel sympathy for Su Jin and her group once again.

Upon closing the door, everyone breathed a sigh of relief in unison.

Facing the dusty bunk beds, Su Jin decided to clean up a bit. They might be able to enter their space at night, but it was safer to stay outside when living amongst others.

“Su Girl, since we are here, let’s go have a look around the base, shall we?” Nie Qing was already eager to explore.

Su Jin looked at the time: it was indeed still early, and theyuld go out to see what the situation was like in the freedom-filled Freedom Dawn Base.

Moreover, Lin Yunguo and Li Xiuying didn’t seem tired at all.

“We just came out and took a ride, what’s there to be tired about? We are in great health now, let’s go!”
