Chapter 179 -179: That Memory
“You don’t trust me?”
Su Jin suddenly had the urge to tease Lu Hao.
“Trust…”
Lu Hao’s reply was somewhat reluctant; it wasn’t that he didn’t trust Su Jin, he was just angry, even though he didn’t know why he was angry.
“Then what do you think, in my past life, what was my relationship with him?”
Su Jin took the opportunity to straighten Lu Hao’s collar.
Su Jin breathed a fragrance like orchids, always emitting a pleasant scent that made him yearn for her.
“In the past life, did he die? Did he die to save you?” Lu Hao voiced his guess.
What’s the deal?!
He guessed it and is still mad at her!
“Captain Lu, I’ll be honest,” Su Jin raised her tender hands.
“Hmm, be honest and lenient,”
Lu Hao pressed his forehead against Su Jin’s.
Smelling Lu Hao’s scent, Su Jin blushed but still remembered her past dealings with Xia Mufei.
Xia Mufei indeed came from the S City base, just because at that time his girlfriend had unknowingly offended a big shot of S City base, so he protected his Special Ability-less girlfriend all along, and finally made their way to their team.
Xia Mufei was a genuinely nice guy, and like the other teammates, Su Jin thought of him as a male saint, always feeling pity for anyone he encountered on the road, even skipping meals to help others.
Just like his girlfriend Fang Jingfu, who clung to Xia Mufei like a leech, yet always finding fault with him; their team captain couldn’t stand it and had privately advised him several times not to debase himself like that, especially since Xia Mufei was already so skinny, his body like a bag of bones that seemed like it could be blown away by a breeze.
Su Jin remembered hearing Xia Mufei saying to the captain, “Without me, Ah Fu would die.”
It wasn’t until later when their team was on a mission that they encountered a small group of zombies, most of the people had managed to reach the vehicles ahead, but Su Jin’s leg was accidentally pierced by ice spikes from an Ice-Element Zombie.
Xia Mufei, who had already run ahead, seeing this, doubled back and carried Su Jin onwards.
“Don’t worry about me, I could be infected too,” Su Jin said weakly.
Her leg was already bleeding, and it was uncertain if she was infected.
“No, it’s just the Ice-Element Zombie’s ice spikes, not, not a scratch,” Xia Mufei panted as he ran.
Su Jin was moved, Xia Mufei’s words reigniting a flicker of hope for escape.
“Next, I’ll shoot vines towards the truck and let the vines pull us both up, hold on tight to me!”
Su Jin looked ahead at the truck not far away and said. The back of the truck was open-air, which could possibly mean rescue for them if they used vines.
“Okay!”
Su Jin’s Wood Element Ability was already Level Four then, making the vines sturdy enough; however, Fang Jingfu, who had already boarded the truck, noticed the wound on Su Jin’s leg.
She called out to everyone, “We can’t let them up, Su Jin has been bitten, look at her leg!”
After she pointed it out, everyone saw the bloody calf wound of Su Jin, and then no one was willing to let her up.
“This is an ice spike wound, not a scratch!” Xia Mufei tried to shout in explanation.
“Useless, they won’t let me up, just put me down. I’ll draw the zombies away, and you can escape further,”
His trap indeed made a bunch of zombies fall into it, but there were still a few mutated zombies that jumped out of the ditch! fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
