Though her explanation was definitely believable, Zivon wasn’t about to buy into it. However, instead of outing her, he gently wiped away any remaining tears before saying, “…Don’t think too much about it… I’m sure everything’s fine… Either way, I’ll be sending you back now, so be sure to rest well tonight…”

With that said, Zivon then sent Xavia home to safety… and upon returning to the old mansion, he fished his cell phone out before sending Nathan a text that stated, ‘I want you to find out what Xavia spent her time doing today. Report back to me as soon as possible.’

Upon receiving the message, Nathan couldn’t help but feel like he had just been placed in a tough spot… Couldn’t he at least have the time to relax in the dead of night…? Though those were his thoughts, Nathan simply sighed before quickly beginning to investigate… and didn’t take long for him to get results.

Once his call with Zivon connected, Nathan immediately reported, “Miss Lockhart has apparently gone to the hospital today to visit her grandmother who’s been ill for several days now… From what I’ve gathered, the doctor has given her a treatment plan, and he also stated that her grandmother needs a kidney, and some bone marrow transplants as soon as possible…”

“Following that, Miss Lockhart looked for Chairman Talton’s help, resulting in him flying over to S City the second he could… I’m assuming that once he arrived, they spent their time discussing how she could save her grandmother… But that aside, after that discussion, Miss Lockhart headed straight for home… I should mention, however, that the Young Mistress was present at the hospital too at the time…”

In the end, Zivon couldn’t help but furrow his brows. She had looked for Stefan for help regarding such a big matter instead of him…? Holding his anger back, Zivon then asked, “…What was Jenna over there? Is she orchestrating something again?”

In response, Nathan respectfully replied, “The Young Mistress-”

“Change the way you address her,” interrupted Zivon in an icy tone.

…Cr*p. In Nathan’s hurry, he had accidentally identified Jenna by the wrong title…! Zivon, for one, had never been happy whenever Jenna was called ‘Young Mistress’, and he was even more against it now that Miss Lockhart was in the picture!

Understanding that, Nathan quickly exclaimed, “A-apologies, Young Master…! I’ll be more mindful in the future…! As for Miss Jenna… She didn’t do anything there. Apparently, she’s been paying for the old lady’s expenses in the past few years… It should be noted that she was only able to admit her into that hospital due to her connections with the President’s wife…”

…How cold… To think that he had only called her over in the dead of night just to ask her to donate her organs…! Laughing wryly, Jenna then walked over to Zivon’s side before sitting there as she replied, “If you can be so concerned about her grandmother, why can’t you be as concerned for me? In the end, I’m still your rightful wife, as well as your son’s mother.”

Glaring at her with disgust, Zivon was prompted to say, “Get your hand off me. You should know that those relations are the only reason I’ve chosen not to hold anything against you after all the atrocities you’ve done. Why else did you think you’ve remained unharmed till this day? Regardless, again, what are your conditions?”

With how concise he was being, it almost seemed like he was unwilling to even spare extra words for her, and for good reason. After all, she shared Xavia’s face, so every time she did something that annoyed him, he really wanted to ruin her face.

Either way, after feeling a chill run down her spine, the now pale-faced woman dropped her smile before sitting up straight as she replied, “…Fine. We can discuss the conditions, or rather, condition. You only have to agree to one thing… Essentially, in exchange for that old lady’s life, you can’t divorce me after Grandma passes on. In fact, you’ll have to live a normal married life with me, though I’ll allow you to keep Xavia around.”
