Pregnant and Favored: See You in the Morning, Young Master novel Chapter 818

After saying that, Jenna quickly walked up to Zivon’s side before giving him a kiss on the cheek. Being the sharp woman she was, Jenna knew for a fact that Zivon had simply said that to hurt Xavia. With that in mind, that also meant that she was going to be able to get away with this kiss!

As she expected, Zivon paid her kiss no heed, and simply returned to his seat before indifferently saying, “Everyone has distinct essences, no matter how alike they may look.”

“…That can’t be the only thing, right, Chairman Burton? They look exactly the same to me! There must be some other way you recognized them! Come on, I’m dying of curiosity here!” replied Zaui.

His statement made Zivon’s eyes momentarily deepen. While Zivon would’ve had a bit more trouble recognizing Jenna if her twin was anyone else, it was no challenge for him to be able to tell who Xavia was. After all, Xavia’s eyes were always much brighter, more apprehensive, and tenacious compared to other women.

While his mind spoke praises of her, Zivon ultimately explained, “My wife’s eyes are direct, and she’s easy to read. Much easier than some other people I know.”

…So praising Jenna wasn’t enough? He had to mock her too…?!

As Xavia clenched her fists in anger, Zaui was prompted to reply, “So that’s what it was! Correct me if I’m wrong, but in Darlsbury, this is called, ‘love glances,’ correct? Whatever the case is, the game was rigged then! I demand we have another game, this time with both of them blindfolded. They should also have their hands against their backs to prevent cheating! What do you say?”

While Xavia wanted to reject and just leave already, she knew that her words didn’t really carry any weight. After all, had it not been for Bianca’s efforts, she wouldn’t even have the right to be standing here. With that in mind, all Xavia could do was sigh before allowing the makeup artist to dress her up and apply more makeup on her…

As suggested by Zaui, she was blindfolded as well before finally being allowed to walk out again…

Though she couldn’t see a thing, she was able to hear Zaui exclaim, “How frighteningly identical! Look, if you can still recognize your wife, then I’ll be more than willing to concede defeat, Young Master Burton…”

True enough, the women were indistinguishable, especially since they now had large, male suits draped over their bodies, making it impossible to even see their figures. The only things exposed were their small, blindfolded faces… In a way, their sheer similarity felt almost creepy…

Regardless, since Zivon wasn’t saying anything, Zaui was prompted to ask, “…Well, Young Master Burton? Are you throwing in the towel as well…?”

By this point, the speechless Xavia was as anxious as an ant walking on a boiling pot! Where the hell was he getting all this courage…?! That aside, wasn’t he hugging her a bit too intimately?! Wouldn’t it be embarrassing for him if she said that he had guessed wrongly?!

Before Xavia could say a word, however, Zivon had already released her before calmly saying, “Apologies, I guess I was wrong after all. As it turns out, though people can look the same, our demeanors are what truly make us distinguishable…”

Following that, he got a wet tissue out before wiping his hands, almost as though he was disgusted to have touched her…!

It was evident by this point that he had done all that just to humiliate her, and Xavia was left thoroughly stunned by that realization. To think that she was worried that he’d be embarrassed for choosing the wrong person and losing his bargaining chip when he had been planning on having his revenge this entire time…! It was truly heart-wrenching…!

In the end, Xavia ended up saying, “…Young Master Burton is absolutely right… Even though we’re all people, we’re still divided by race, culture, and of course, our demeanors… Had we not had those blindfolds on, I’m sure you would’ve been able to tell who your wife was, Young Master Burton…”
